Sky diving. Unless your parachute fails , you are ok You can have the best prepared bike but if a small mammal runs out in front of you from a field,a slight deviation could end up in Dave Jeffries tragedy .
It’s my opinion, mate. If they make an error,it is a gruesome end . Personal opinion. You want to conpare deaths in sport, find another punter
No that`s ok you have answered my question it is just you and your mind that believe they are braver than all other extreme sportsman they are not of course as there are plenty out there who are just as brave as them but as you say you are entitled to your opinion.
I remember once riding a bike towards Glasbury and a pheasant flew up from the road I was doing about 6 0 at the time . I headed it into the side of the road as I had no time at all to react in any other way . Scary but survived . The Isle of man is potentially lethal at ever turn / twist . Shingler have you ever been on a bike passenger or rider ? If not then I can understand your viewpoint if you have then you need to take a long hard look at yourself as you are obviously talking bs .
Take the Bandit out when the sun shines , fine weather biker me .
Awful comparrisons could be a boxer suffering traumatic head injuries after one punch to the brain , long term damage to mental health follows , they choose that direction .
F1 an event I have very little interest in , that driver could be a fatality at any time driving .
Some participants in dangerous sports think differently to me , adrenaline takes over then .

Wildlife eh. I was never keen on being a pillion though. I came off once as one on the old Bridge complex in Birkenhead docks after the front wheel lost traction on the train tracks . Not pleasant with traffic being behind .
Some glorious roads for biking in Wales but around every corner possibly lies your nemesis .

I've had hedgehogs and stoats rush out at the last second . I also had a lucky escape when I steered the bike between 2 sheep . I was wearing a tinted visor ( now banned ) _ it was years ago . It was early evening and visibility wasn't brilliant doing about 55 at the time.

With train tracks on the public road ,you obviously have to angle the front wheel at 45degrees or you get stuck .

Had a close call with a Sheep coming over Penderyn, I'd been out for a nice spin on the Fireblade over and around Brecon and comeback over Penderyn, I came up over the brow doing about 80 and there was the biggest sheep I'd ever seen standing in the middle of the road, i seemed to have found time to work out that I need to slip behind him, luckily for me and the sheep it was the right decision, it slowed me right down for the rest of the trip home,

Its the hidden side roads on the country roads that worry me, was on such a road a couple of weeks ago in my van and as I came round a corner and heading down a bit of a hill and saw a tractor and a lorry coming down a side road, if I had been on a bike I wouldn't have seen them, got to have eyes everywhere when riding these road types.

Junctions in my opinion are the worst . I have been knocked off twice at junctions both occasions I had right of way . I always try and ride towards the middle of the road at junctions.

and I used to, had a car pull out of a carpark and hit me wrote off an 8 month old Blade, I got away with it luckily, its always been in mind that I probably could have stopped, but thought of hitting the car side on put me off, so I tried to go around it as it was at low speed, will never know if that was the right decision though.

Just watched the Ian Hutchison TT story, amazing rider suffered some serious accidents and is still mad for it, even after surgeons have had to rebuild him incredible story. Poor bugger suffered a stroke whilst cycling in Spain back in March, 16 TT titles he's won, some achievement that is

Peter Hickman night tonight, must be the fastest rider to have ever competed at the TT, he's extraordinary, I really need to go out there I see the TT for myself.
Ain't got a so called bucket list I hate the saying, but I need to go there.

Sounds dodgy, you slipping behind a sheep. Say no more.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Just watching a program on ITV4 about it, they mentioned the deaths, so I looked it up, 6 died in 2022... if this was horse or dog racing, they'd ban it!

Watching it myself, they keep trying to make things safer, but its a road race so its practicably impossible to cover all risks, there are track deaths on to many occasions as well, rider error, mechanical faults, oil on track, if it was possible to ask those who have died whilst competing in racing, I'd be surprised if any of them would want the sport they loved banned, racing is ingrained in their dna.
