I bet those stuck in the jams from the severn bridge to the Brynglas tunnels today would have loved to get up to 20 mph , bliss

I was heading the other way at 6-20 last night and the queue was phenomenal. As you say, all the way back to the bridge.

Yesterday Friday 12.15pm crawling. Average speed cameras...you'd be lucky to get anywhere near average speed. The main artery into Wales, money on the table for a relief road.

| 20 MPH rollout on 19:20 - Jun 7 by Flashberryjack | The road I live on has had a 20mph limit for years, 90% of people totally ignore it, and to my knowledge not one person has been fined for speeding. A lorry turns up today and tars over the 20mph that is painted on the road, much better if he's used the tar to fill in the potholes. And yes Builthy, I'm in the hate Drakeford crew. |
See, I don't hate Drakeford BUT I do hate what him and Welsh labour enabled by Plaid Cymru are doing to Wales. I think it says a lot that to get a majority Labour had to sign up to a cooperation agreement, this is Wales where 3 legged donkeys win if they are wearing red rosettes and still no majority. The tories most certainly are not the answer but neither is Labour, wake up people.

Labour or Conservative are not the answer as you say. I would probably vote Plaid if they came out with a policy to encourage growth in the whole of Wales and drop the independence nonsense. Get into power and show how you can run Wales properly for the benefit of all of Wales and possibly the public would trust you with more power. It won't happen overnight but steady progress is the way forward.

Plaid would have no reason for existing if not for the Independence nonsense.

They could have a reason as WR says, rebrand as the party that wants to run Wales properly to convince us THEN ask for an indy vote. I wouldn't have voted for them with Price in charge but Ap Iorweth may do a better job. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

This exactly. Give us policies we agree with and can vote for and Plaid will get into power, the Welsh Labour habit would then stop. Then deliver on the promises and show us what you can do. Independence would naturally follow providing the public had confidence in their ability and sensible long term ambition.

Yep, I am so dead ste against indy largely because of how totally useless the Senedd currently is under Welsh Labour. I don't see the tories improving things either. If Plaid would wake up and see the opportunity instead of banging the same tired old drum we might see a shift.

Really, come on! It would take more than just a change in ruling party or policy to make independence viable. You seem to have forgotten all the other reasons why it’s not in the least bit popular in Wales. These days, not even discovering Wales is on top of an oil field the size of Wales won’t cut itðŸ˜.

before indy can be talked about with any real meaning we need a Welsh government that runs the place better. Then we could see if indy was at all viable. I'll give it to JohnLangy, he makes a good case and it would be good to see if what he says is actauuly possible. We'll never know that with the current idiots in charge, they seem more intent on ruining Wales.

I respect John due to the way he puts his views across but that doesn’t detract from the fact that the numbers just won’t stack up. Anyway, there won’t be enough people willing to vote independence in the near to medium term future. Any campaign would be run on lies or at best gross exaggerations which should be easily seen through. What I do agree with is that Wales needs a party with Wales’s best interest at heart and that would by definition mean no entertaining of independence.
