Already on its knees in recent years thanks to the Welsh Govts unnecessarily heavy Covid restrictions, refusal to deal with M4 congestion and seeming intention to actually make getting around in Wales even harder. To top that off we've still got the mooted tourist tax to come.

Is there anything in this country that they can't screw up?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I will never understand people who go for a holiday/short break and don't spend. Fair enough if you are struggling. When we go anywhere we spend a bloody fortune. I like a beer and a glass of red Mrs T likes a blinkinhNew Zealand Sav Blanc. We also eat out all the time as to us that's part of the holiday. Especially when you're abroad. The local cuisine and all that.

It’s all about being self sufficient. Spending buggercall in the local area preferring to cook in the van .
It’s the modern day luxury equivalent of cooking Heinz beans and sausage and frying bacon on a prints stove .
Was in Bala recently and a whole army of them took over the lakeside ,shoving the awnings up,got the chairs and table out then brewed up before sitting back and gawping at those who were off to the cafes to spend money.
These scourges should be hammered tax wise and banned from narrow roads. Their width and height. Is an issue .

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Fair play Builth, you should be the minister for tourism

I always push Gower and Mumbles to people. Joke about the weather but also highlight the positives. Considering the weather we had a couple of drinks on the front in Mumbles and two starters...it was pretty busy. The price though! Can't wait to get back to Spain and sit on the beach front with warmth and a round that I don't need a mortgage for. 🌞

Speaking as one who has a reasonably large RV I spend quite a bit locally between buying local products and cooking or eating out. This is without normal spending whilst I'm away. But I suppose it takes someone who doesn't do it voice a non factual opinion.

Most countries have huge debts, the sums are so large they can never be paid off. National debt is no big deal as long as the international banks etc get their interest payments and fees

So …..no need to worry about the huge UK debt.
But we should worry that England apparently subsidises Wales. In fact worry so much that Indy is a bad idea….

Mmmmm …. Please make it make sense …. ?!

Wrong again, the UK has massive debt and Wales carries approximately 15% of it.

Rubbish - a debt taken in our name but without our specific consent will not stand up in international law.

When Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania left the Soviet Union, the Russians tried this one. The Russians lost.

As a former caravaner I’d agree with your statements. In fact, given we were travelling with kids and bikes, to stay within the car’s weight limits and be able to tow safely we didn’t carry a great deal of food and beer - we’d source it on arrival at our destination.

Local products are often part of the experience. A good local butcher, fishmonger fresh vegetables, cheese and bread, then of course some local bottles of beer. Local restaurants/pubs are often booked in advance at busy times. It's a fantastic lifestyle if you get the chance and obviously it help the local economy.

Unfortunately, that's incorrect. The UK is registered as a corporation , and whenever we register children at birth we become part of that. It's why the govt can levy taxes on us. Kids born today are born into debt

The experience is totally different now to 2014, I have done both. With nearly 250,000 on the toad in the UK now touring areas are more switched on to take advantage of the income stream. But you are of course welcome to your opinion.

Well,that a relief .
In 2014,many hired RVs but because of restrictions on wild camping, most stayed on campsites .

The article is about Wales.
Why are you harping on about Rhondda…?

Repeat after me, Wales voted for Brexit by a very small margin. It was such a small margin that the English retirees , who brought their politics with them, were numerous enough to have been statistically significant and very possibly the difference in such a close national vote.

Its been a disaster for Wales, of course, as predicted by all the sensible people.

Hows the taking back control of ‘our borders’ going ? 🤣
Hows Johnson doing as PM ? 🇬🇧

Why Rhondda, obviousy you fail to grasp his point. No surprise there.

Now then, these English retirees you love to moan about, maybe they were balanced out by the Welsh people living in England who voted leave?

All the sensible people knew/know that while brexit hasn't been a fantastic thing so far, nobody can predict where we will be in 20 years and longer. Brexit was never about the short term.

You really need to think about things.

We WILL owe the Uk, or what's left of it, that money and we will negotiate a settlement because otheriwse the outcome doesn't bear thinking about.

How will our imports get to Wales? The vast majority go through England, if we stiff them for 250 billion (rough guess) then what do you think they will do?

Hard borders maybe? How about no trade deals? Most of our business is done with England and most of what we buy in comes via England.

We wouldn't have the EU to help out either because even if we applied to them (and bearing in mind it could take years or even decades to gain membership) indy has to come first and the application afterwards.

Wales would be cut off and at the whim of whoever was in power in Westminster who would have no reason to be generous to us if we "welshed" on a debt to them.

Latvia and Lihuania were welcomed by the West, have borders with Western countries.

People who live in the UK are free to move to wherever the best job opportunities are. Seems that is why so many remainers think and independent Wales should seek to rejoin the EU . does that make the 48% of the Welsh population traitors, who voted to remain, traitors?

Guess the 40,000 Welsh people who have treatment in English hospitals are also traitors.

No need. Mid Wales has been chocabloc since before Easter. I am not sure what all the fuss is about.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Ireland found a way post Brexit and is booming.
Look up ‘land bridge’.
So will Cymru and Scotland.

However by then Englands failed Brexit will be reversed and so its going to get sorted.

Yes Cymru will reach a fair agreement, but your argument is a kin to a gambling, drunken husband telling his good wife that she cant leave him because she owes half his feckless debt.

it's nothing like that but you'll push any line won't you.

Ireland found a way because of the post brexit agreement with the UK government. The EU won't be negotiating on our behalf because we are not members.

So you admit Cymru will reach a fair agreement then, WAYHAYYYYY, some sense at last. The other big difference between us and the Baltic states is, we are legally members of a democratic union, we are legally and willingly part of the UK and so any debt taken by the UK is also a debt Wales has a duty to honour, in part.

What you have suggested is akin to a business partership breaking up and one partner refusing to honour their share of the debt.
