The stats don't tell the whole picture Injuries from rtcs are greatly increased here and it's nowt to do with 20 mph limits, just badly trained, untrained , reckless jerks often uninsured Throw in drug and drink drivers too preferably into a canal

| Labour planning for Government on 18:43 - Oct 2 by Joesus_Of_Narbereth | Why not make it ten mph that’s even safer. Or better still ban cars altogether. |
Banning cars, now there's a novel idea. Getting us to use non existent public transport to save us from a climate change that isn't happening

Plus the idiots who break the 30mph limit and drive illegal escooters and exiles. Seems the law abiding citizens, who have a licence , insurance who keep to speed limits have to be punished. If it is all about safety and saving lives why does Drakeford not ban tobacco ecigs etc.

If law abiding citizens break the speed limit, then they aren't law abiding citizens

If Drakeford was all about saving lives why hasn't he been spending the full NHS budget on the NHS. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Please at least try to read the post before being controversial. It seems the law abiding citizens who keep to the speed limits, have a valid license and insurance are the ones bring punished by the 20mph limit. Perhaps Drakeford should have asked the police to enforce the current laws before impossing his almost universal hated new law.

Insurance WTF. I mean, you need that! Thousands don’t and present a significant danger to anyone they bump into and bumping into someone at 20 mph can still be life changing. Better we employ police officers to drive these cretins off the roads .

On the proper thread for these posts there are stats for what causes most accidents and pedestrians were far and away the problem, not looking, mucking about, lots of things and the numbers were much higher than those caused by drivers. Maybe Drakeford should make it law that pedestrians learn how to cross the road? Or maybe go after the bad drivers, the dangerous drivers not every single driver regardless of their reord.

| Labour planning for Government on 17:43 - Oct 6 with 628 views | majorraglan | Going back to the original title of the thread, it seems Labour are/were looking to set up a business advisory council with some of the country’s blue chip companies. I suspect the forum would have been to ascertain the needs of business and with a view try to improving the economy etc moving forward, however the Jeremy Hunt and other senior Conservatives have intervene and “persuaded” the companies not to get involved. The move from Labour is/was in my opinion a positive step demonstrating they are forward looking. A good relationship between Business, government and unions would hopefully lead to a more productive U.K. https://www.independent.co.uk/ | | | |
