Much maligned when he first joined, I’m now disappointed if he’s not starting, a beast of a striker who seems to be improving all the time.

Most important thing: is it Grasshopper or GrasshopperS - singular or plural? I'm sure in the old days it was Grasshoppers Zurich. Maybe its translation or a re-brand. We/I should be told.

Late to the party, but to echo what other have said, a great guy off the pitch - you won’t find anyone at the club with anything but positive things to say about him, and he’s been extremely supportive of the younger players in the squad.

Obviously on the pitch it was all a bit uncomfortable watching after his initial 6 months but you never got the impression he ever gave less than 100% and he also has left a lot of money on the table to go and play every week.

Can we have 11 of these characters on the pitch please.

Can we not guess that a player has taken some perceived pay cut to leave, unless we know this for a fact?

I'm not sure where you're getting those figures from. Frey played 2,559 minutes and got 10 goals. That's better than a goal every three games. Decent figures.

A hard working player who gave us something we didn't have at the time. Good luck to him
[Post edited 27 Jan 8:07]

You're right, I had him down for 9 goals and not 10.

The broader point I'm making is we're finding players with good records abroad that struggle in the Champ or take time to acclimatise (Madsen) and I was wondering if we could do more to support them? Frey had a good goal scoring record at his previous club. It also links to our injury crisis. I'm starting to think there's something we're doing wrong in terms of onboarding new players .

Grasshopper Club Zurich is the official name. Nickname - Grasshoppers or Hoppers

I think over here they seem to have down the years been colloquially been referred to as Grasshoppers Zurich.

Good for him. I always liked him. I also thought he was a lot better player than he looked. One of our better free transfers that's for sure.

The commentator is obviously continually masturbating whilst on coke and speed throughout that.

It's a style!

Never knowingly right.

We signed him from another club. I'm not sure he was a free. The club didn't say that he was.

The best commentator I've heard since Moore, Motson and Davies.

"What a madness".

*Giggles nervously*

And some random Arabic or Urdu tagged on at the end.

Great stuff.

He was free Bri - Antwerp waived any fee in return for him tearing up his deal there.

This is the future everyone!

I think the original commentary might have been Arabic, or Urdu.
But AI has auto dubbed this into English.

We've ended up with the most bizarre cadence to a commentary, which is fairly non-sensical. Yet still manages to be better than Matterface and Dixon.

We need to stop this AI menace

Shit you're right it says "auto dubbed" underneath the title!!

Can Matterface and Drury be auto dubbed please?

Perhaps one step worth considering is to recruit more players (and ideally managers) who actually play/have played in the Championship?

In an ideal world this is probably quite true. It comes down to shopping in stores you can afford to be in, if you forgive the analogy. It seems like a lot of our recruitment comes in either from overseas or lower divisions because aside from the Ronnie Edwards transfer our ability to compete at the same level as our counterparts in this division is limited. We spent £4.5m on Edwards whilst teams around us can spend £10m+. But at least Edwards and RND have played at this level previously.

The policy seems to be to get in players from a level below us, who have potential, and try and polish them up. Problem is that players like Poku are a gamble. He's cost us £1m from League 1 and he certainly can play and is potentially a great asset, but he comes here with horrible hamstring injury issues. I guess that's why he came for £1m rather than £5m. We've taken a chance we can get him right. Unfortunately he could end up in the Richard Ord column if he keeps braking down.

Management wise it is a tough one. The better former player at championship options are limited. The ones that are around seem to command a higher fee than we are used to with no guarantees.

Love or hate Nourry I think he is trying to work with what we have and also bring in younger players that can be polished up to make the level. Where they come from as youngsters doesn't matter as much.

I am not an expert in finances at all but my uneducated guess is that we are generally unable to compete financially to get many other players who have played at Championship level in, bar a few based on our finance ability at the time.

Never knowingly right.

That would cost more money, which we don't have unfortunately.
