| So , what about Santos on 06:45 - Dec 14 by onehunglow | So, what about Santos As for Key, it’s on nobodies interest to pay him It’s a tough game but they get paid well enough It’s a privilege to wear the shirt |
I assume you were well paid and believe it privilege to wear the uniform and did you not ever work with someone or supervise someone who was not 'on their game' then perhaps found out that there was a good reason for that? Key was, I believe, recruited for his ability and potential. At the present he seems devoid of confidence and form. He needs help and I hope the new coaching staff give him that help and get to the bottom of it all. We can be very dismissive sometimes and fail to appreciate that football players are human beings, just like the rest of us, with all the baggage that goes with being human and, in his case, being a young man as well.

My post was not intended to be personal but it was you that mentioned Key in your post about Santos. I was simply making the point that we should not be dismissive about a player who currently seems to be having problems. Whether they go deeper than performances on the football pitch, I have no idea. As I have no idea where your reference to 'hate' comes from. My comments are drawn from the lifelong experience of an 'old fart'.

Getting injured is always the players fault according to him though.

Great, we’re back to football. Yes, if Casey goes back and one of the other two is unavailable, we’ll see Santos. Just like we’ll see Fisher if Vigaroux is injured. Backup

If Casey goes back I expect another defender to come on loan, possibly someone who can cover the centre and right side of defence.

Point well made regarding Key, he is bang out of form and not suited to the current style or formation unfortunately. I don't see him as the sulking type and hopefully he can for his own careers sake find a better level of performance soon or he will be on his way elsewhere. Football is a brutal industry despite the rewards on offer. Not defending the mistakes Key has made recently but I personally dont put this down to a lack of effort, sometimes things move on and leave you behind.... Being a politician seems to be the only job that currently provides security and reward for consistent failure and a lack of talent.
