Hate calling out players but Bennie, Vale, Kone and Kolli particularly guilty. I know we're building for the future yada yada but some of the subs and one or two of our starters looked miles away from Championship standard. The only thing that kept me watching after we went 3-1 down was seeing handsome Ron give the rest of our players a lesson in ball control and simple passing (and Madsen too before he went off).

I lost my head and gave Bennie both barrels when he miscontroled the ball for the tenth time in a row. Basic standards you'd expect from a professional football were so far off for too many today. Vale tried taking a corner with the outside of his left foot and it didn't even go on the pitch. I'd given up by then otherwise I'd have jumped down from upper loft and strangled him.

It never ceases to amaze me how often we concede around 50-55 minutes at home. Whatever is said to these misfits at half time doesn't seem to register. What is the point boring people to death drawing 0-0 away only to follow up losing at home to both Wrexham and Blackburn conceding three goals in each game? We are excelling once again in not being capable of beating teams fighting relegation and having half the team crocked. Really am weary of this never ending season after season going nowhere tale of woe that regurgitates itself in slightly different forms. Mate, I had the Blackburn commentary, and they saw it as a dive - Walsh absolutely pulled out. The ref called it right, but should have booked their player.

BUT QPR vs Blackburn Rovers match thread on 18:01 - Feb 14 with 1660 views | Watford_Ranger | Someone do correct me if I’m wrong as I haven’t looked back but I’m sure early in the season JS was more aggressive with subs when things weren’t looking good. You’ve got five to play with and it was obvious Bennie had no place being out there after HT. Not the kid’s fault but he wasn’t up to it and an adult was required even with few options. Probably would have made them slightly earlier had the knocks to Kone and Madsen not come (God help us if NM is injured now) but he seems more and more reluctant to change games we aren’t winning nor looking like scoring.

You do start to look enviously at Millwall with Steve Gallen as DoF and a manager and team suited to the Championship. I just don't understand what the plan is - we are a possession-based side (according to the model) who can't keep possession.

He was at fault for their first goal too, why try and keep the ball in play by blindly kicking the ball over your head by the touchline on the half-way line. A throw-in to Blackburn would have sufficed. Instead, we lose possession, they transfer the ball to their right and one of their players adroitly nutmegs RND by using his left foot before immediately delivering a dangerous cross from deep with his right foot, for them to then score the opening goal. Not worth £3m for mine. Too lightweight. as evidenced by the ease at which he was dispossessed for Blackburn's second. Doubtless, he'll start again next week. [Post edited 14 Feb 18:31]

| Ewood'nt believe it if i told you... BUT QPR vs Blackburn Rovers match thread on 17:31 - Feb 14 by stainrods_elbow | That's what struck me watching today - we are just so poor at retaining possession, passing it, and building up a head of steam for more than two or three minutes. Our heads of steam barely amount to a teapot's, more often that not. We are at least four or five quality, canny Champ players short from front to back at this level. Can't the manager see it? If he can, what are we doing about it? As for Cook and Dunne, they fell so far short, a great deal of today is on them. |
The lack of retaining possession is not new, that's why after 7-1 against Coventry JS changed it. He saw QPR do not have the players to play through CM and so by-passed it with hoof ball. This all goes back to the summer recruitment. We have lots of shiny baubles, but nothing to hang them on, yet this team is a centre midfield away from a serious promotion push. Look at Boro.

Kolli for me. Played well against West Ham and after a bad game against Stoke, has been usurped by Bennie!! and a returning Saito, who was poor prior to his minor injury and has largely replicated that poor form since his return. Let's give him a run of games and see how he fares. Smyth on the right for Bennie who should be nowhere near the first team. Respectfully, Mide Shodipo at the same age as Bennie showed more promise.

I agree Blackburn tactically and physically much stronger than us, beaten by a team better set up than us. Our mistakes were punished, theirs never led to anything for us. Lot of square pegs in round holes QPR team in my opinion, probably not helped by the injuries. Bennie and Vale really off the pace of the game and Blackburn's no.25 probably the best player.

I said it a couple of weeks ago and I’ll say it again , shouting abuse and anger at a 19 year old kid is not a good look no matter how bad he is playing . I get the frustration and no one is saying he had a good game. Of course he didn’t but I’m sorry I ain’t shouting at a youngster learning his trade . He shouldn’t be thrown in like that but that’s not his fault . The fact that the questions of why, recruitment, injuries , squad depth can’t ever be asked properly to the people in charge shouldn’t mean that its all taken out on a 19 year old trying his best . I do agree that maybe these youngsters are maybe too mole coddled, but we all know he should be out on loan but we go season after season saying the same thing about different youngsters and we fail them really. Regarding injuries , Madsen one could be devastating of course . That’s us well and truly done if that is anything more than a kick which hopefully will heal quickly . The worry is to do with our bloody pitch . 2 players went down clutching their knee with no one else around them . One of them was a the Blackburn lad that was carried off . The other was Richard Kone. Lucky enough to sit where I could see screens yesterday and see multiple replays of Kone going down . Don’t be surprised if we don’t see him next match . He went down awkwardly clutching his knee with no one around him and it looked bad . He obviously managed to carry on but that will stiffen up and be a problem this morning and for the near future I would think . Let’s just hope is more Esquerdinha than Dembele . That pitch is becoming one of our main undoings this season and whilst CN tried to gloss over it by telling us all what a great job the ground staff are doing , there are questions that need answering . Why were a lot of the long standing ground staff laid off last summer ? Why the new treatments this season that have killed the grass dead and why are you still persisting with them even though it’s visible to all that they are not working ? Never mind Sunlight No one has had any sun . It’s been p*sing down for months !!!! None of this will be admitted because there is quite a queue now of players suffering bad injuries this season (remember Massimo) who would probably like legal recompense if they owned up and admitted the failings . It’s a narcissistic shambles unfortunately Edit- to top it off there is the women’s National league cup final on that pitch next month . What a great look ! [Post edited 15 Feb 10:40]
