Plus some reaction to a game that has to be the most frustrating since Matos arrived at Swansea. Yes, we should expect these type of fixtures but the attitude towards this game was poor by the players when it came to turning their possession into points. 0 Harsh reality, click above.

| Swansea City : The reality from that Derby performance on 19:15 - Feb 16 with 844 views | Fireboy2 | We lose a game and all hell breaks lose. Why dont we look how well derby played? Eustace set them up to frustrate us and to try and nick a goal as his side are big and strong, they rely on getting goals from set pieces, which they did. We will come up against more teams who will play this way, we cant mix it up by going long as we dont have the players who cant hold the ball up Matos im sure will combat this problem. | | | |

| Swansea City : The reality from that Derby performance on 20:48 - Feb 16 with 749 views | swansjack84 | My biggest concern was that we reverted back to the Russel Martin/Williams/Sheehan way of playing. Slow and Backwards. There has been enough matches to show Matos wants a quicker pace. I just hope this is not a sign we will be playing like this more in the future. Granted Derby set up well and forced us to play this way. But I hope to god we aren't going to play that negative anytime soon. | | | |

The more ive thought about it, we didnt revert back we were made to play like that by the way derby set up. Imo nunes should have started insofar eom, hes more direct than eom, he would have caused panic for derby instead of eom p!ssing about with the ball and being selfish.

I think Liam pretty much summed it up today. He could have put on at least eight examples of the ball being played back when obvious passes forwards were ignored.

That is just 8 occasions, out of well over 100 passes. I still think that after watching it live that they frustrated us into playing the ball back, although as I also said eom slowed us down more than anyone, we all said before and after a bit of the game that nunes should have started

That’s the point really. We allowed Derby to impose their game on us and dictate the way we played. That was far more of a frustration for me than the actual result.

I’m in agreement with fireman and the rest here It’s what got me angry I hoped the Martin curse had gone It hadn’t We were faffong about , again There’s no need We have pace but don’t use it We attack , like Ronald then freeze, EOM is lovely but simply a one trick pony and delivers little We could have a midfield of Franco Stamenic Galbraith ? A balanced midfield that would trouble any team in this league Those three should by now be a Unit , a central core of the team We can then deploy the likes of Nunez and Yalcoure to cause havoc I cannot understand the selections of Ronald and EOM There again , many things confuse me , like Ward who won’t be fit enough until his short contract is up Matos has been a breath of fresh air but I just hope he can get this out of our system Anyway

They exploited our weakness which is set pieces. Even Eustace mentioned it after the game. "We spoke about how we'd look to beat them on set-pieces and today was very much a set-piece game". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo

I think we will persevere with Galbraith at full back to enable us to have more options in the middle like Widell and Walta who are going to be massive players for us and need to be bedded in. Galbraith is rarely substituted so there only two midfield places left if he played there, neither Widell or Walta are holding midfield so they would get little game time chasing one spot.

Exactly, he knew that was the only way they could beat us. Its doing well for them atm but it must be boring to watch week in week out.

I don’t doubt it Which is my point Galbraith is a match winner Isn’t Ward ready If not, why give him a short contract when he’s not fit enough My point

I’d go further than that. They are a set piece team, we aren’t. They negated our pressing by just launching down the left channel to Abyemang. They kept in shape so we couldn’t really attack them in broken play and held us at arms length so we didn’t create real chances and most of our shots were from distance or angles. If ever we’re involved in ‘very much a set piece game’ it’s because the opposing manager has got one over on Matos. Eustace made us play the game he wanted it to be. Doesn’t happen often, but it happened Saturday.

He should on Saturday, he has an excellent skill set to concentrate the minds of any opposition. We’ve already seen that.

Imo he slowed us down several times when he got the ball, allowing derby to get players back to defend, if nunes had been on he would have been more direct.
