How much hard cash has he actually paid into Swansea City?
Just wondering.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Gate receipts are vastly over valued by supporters, they are much lower than both commercial and broadcasting revenue.

Yep.

FWIW I don't think we'll get anything like that for front of shirt sponsorship, but even £2-3m would probably be a four fold increase on what we're getting now. Maybe more.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

TG has mentioned that we have a sponsorship deal coming in and it’ll be the biggest sponsorship deal we’ve had ever. Not sure if that just for front of shirt.

I would expect any deal coming in to be for 3-5 years and loaded with incentives including promotion.

Spot on mate, i really can't understand how some can't see it.

Snoops firm Death Row does sponsor Swansea city. That is why Matos was wearing a Death Row logo. I am suggesting the Snoop money is part Sponsorship / part shares with the loading being on the sponsorship.

Hi, So what's the potential shirt sponsor for next season?

He didn't say; he kept it close to his chest! Pun very much intended. He said that United pay around £10million 'all-in' to be on the front of the Wrexham shirt. That is greater than all our sponsorship put together. He explained that the extra publicity from Snoop and social media coverage would add a couple of million to the shirt deal.

When do the stadium naming rights come up for renewal?
Quite like the sound of Death Row Stadium

This is Patches O'Houlihan saying "Take care of your balls, and they'll take care of you."

Is that sponsorship or a collaboration?

I don’t know what cut we get out of selling that range, but we stand to gain a lot more from being associated with Snoop Dogg and Death Row than they do. We’ll sell a lot more of that range than our usual stock.

Matos wearing a hoodie with SCFC and Death Row on it probably doesn’t move their needle that much. Snoop wearing the same hoodie increases our profile massively.

He’s globally recognisable

Go in the shop on match day and you will see they are not moving, they probably sell some online to the American market. Saying that the may shift a couple tomorrow but it won't be many, I dont think I have seen one inside the stadium apart from Matos.

We aren’t the target market. They haven’t brought Snoop Dogg and Luca Modric on board to increase sales in Swansea

I know that, there is a local market and an international market, entirely different marketing, sponsorship and revenue stream.

Gorringe has said that our retail revenue has already surpassed last seasons in December, that’s the real life impact of bringing in people like Snoop and Modric. I wouldn’t be surprised to see both front of shirt and stadium naming rights announced soon, especially with the rumours of the stadium being bought. I can imagine the .com naming rights can either be bought out relatively cheaply or have favourable break clauses

The club signed a 10 year deal with Swansea.com in August 2021 so there is 5 years left on the deal. Under the terms of the lease with the council we pay a percentage of the naming rights to the council. I can see no change of stadium sponsor until/if the club buys the stadium or the current agreement ends. Would it be practical for the club to buy out the current agreement from Swansea.com only to pay an increased amount to the council. A massive deal could swing it but I still doubt it at the moment because negotiations in other areas are taking place. In all honesty we are tied into some very poor deals negotiated by the previous owners.

Bearing in mind the shambles that the WRU have created re Welsh rugby and the Ospreys and the fact that the council are desperately fighting the O's corner, i'd imagine that they'd want to do anything in their power to help the Swans also move forward.

The Ospreys promote the Swansea name and should definitely continue as an entity. But the Swans even in the Championship promote the City to the whole world. And with people like Snoop and Modric involved the focus is on the whole City not just the Club.

I don't mean giving council taxpayers money to the Club but you'd imagine they'd be very flexible in any negotiations if it helps promote both the Club and City.

Agreed. But they also have a responsibility to the citizens of Swansea and will not sell anything off undervalue. Remember they are getting £300,000 income a year from this asset and do not have to do any maintenance or repairs plus they get 10% of the naming rights.

The council are electioneering, desperate for votes in May.

Thought it was five million but 🤷🏻‍♂️

£2million was the figure quoted today in the lounge. More interestingly, the Swans had further talks with Swansea Council yesterday about buying the stadium. Let's hope for some progress there, but it is Swansea Council.
