Nothing to do with the suggestion that ‘some’ particular group are pushing back.

Wetherspoons don't allow music or show sports either - like Sam Smiths pubs they are a chain.
Spoons attract a certain type and anything divisive fuelled by cheap booze is removed as a potential flashpoint.
My post may have been misleading - I know most supermarkets and shops including Asda allow assistance/guide dogs my point was not allowing PET dogs on leads which seems wrong when many folk's unruly crotch goblins are running around causing chaos. I'm pretty sure walking into a shop or PO or bank in the past and seeing people chatting with dogs on leads was commonplace. It's disappeared with big f-off A4 sized "No Dogs" signs everywhere.
The local shops I refer to don't specify exceptions so its designed to discourage. There have also been incidents where assistance dogs have been refused entry and that was the reason for posting this in the first place.
You obviously don't think so or are at least pretending you don't but Muslims have a problem with dogs - Fact - Not all, some will be dog owners themselves such as my mate's Bangladeshi wife who owns a Retriever - But most do in my experience. As an example my mate left his jacket in one of the local cuzza houses - regular customer but turned up next day with his docile Alsatian on a lead and the guys in there shat themselves handed it back to him with the door ajar looking terrified. I find that weird as dogs are part of our culture but not theirs and the same is true of many other cultures that are uncomfortable with our societal norms.

Some extreme ones do but it’s not the norm and generates an unnecessary amount of outrage.
Same reason that sign for no dogs in a London park from years ago pops up every now and then. A rare occurrence that still makes people very cross.

It's not just those of the Islamic faith there are plenty of other folks from parts of the World where dogs are not domestic animals that cross the street when they see a dog even on a lead. That is my lived experience and that of most dog owners I know.
