The season starts a month today home to Birmingham in the cup. Currently there doesn't seem to be much happening, is there any chance of this being open for the start of the season, virtually impossible in my opinion. Does anyone know any different. |  | | |  |

Agreed, there some good companies involved apparently. But expectations of a full opening seem to be stutterimg. Who knows, the club has some ingenuity, I’m confident something will be there come at least the first home league game of the season. |  |

Looking at the reservations that the council put forward regarding the original plans and improvements that had to be made, it will be much more difficult to proceed with this work once the season starts.

Where is it to be built , behind the south stand as far as I can see would it be big enough , if so the I suspect the ground will have to be levelled and tarmaced over so a bit of work to do . | |

Planners want vibrant colours on the exposed steel framing, clerestory windows, a butterfly truss to bring in natural light, and an entrance canopy that takes design cues from the triangular structures of the stadium and the adjacent footbridge. The view toward Kilvey Hill — where the Skyline cable car could one day be visible — is flagged as an opportunity to exploit from the mezzanine level.
Accessibility is a gap in the current submission. The plans include a mezzanine level — which planners support — but say nothing about how wheelchair users and people with mobility needs will reach it. External lifts are recommended, and planners suggest making them a visual feature rather than something bolted on as an afterthought.
South Wales Police have also had their say, and their concerns are serious. They want physical hostile vehicle mitigation — barriers meeting security standard ISO 22343-1 — to prevent vehicles being used as weapons against crowds arriving at the fan zone. I can see your point. But the intention is to provide a structure probably twice the size of the harvester opposite which will be available for hire outside matchday. They don't want a temporary structure or they would have stayed with what they had. What they are trying to provide, with massive backing already in place, is something special for supporters. Personally I think it will be on hold for 12 months, to try and construct this during the season will increase the cost and have a massive inconvenience. | | | |

True but add in the footprint of those outside on matcday, the fanzone will be all inside. The footprint is there for all to see behind the South Stand. | | | |

I went passed earlier, just weeds growing up through the gravel nothing has started. Looks like being 27/28 season if all. Are they waiting to buy the stadium and then incorporate any changes into future plans. | | | |
