Nobody on here takes WOL seriously
It’s a shame we have to rely on Indy for information

Reach (who own WoL, through Media Wales) have a problem.
They have lots of regional outlets like WoL and they used publish lots of stories that put them high up the search engine rankings giving lots of clicks. Then the algorithm changed and the clicks fell off a cliff. Clicks = money, no clicks = skint.
Hence they have moved to a 'readers subscription' model to get some income, but it really isn't going well, anywhere. The old joke about the girl who went for an interview at WoL and was told "Draft us a story about Rob Stewart getting booked for speeding", she sat there, "Well?", "Well you haven't given me the Press Release yet so I've nothing to cut and paste". Nods of approval all round.

I think at the moment they are desperately casting about, probably sustaining losses, while they try to find a new revenue model.
