Tougher prison sentences is the only answer, but they will probably be let out early anyway. Posting online a video of law breaking should also be a criminal offence as it is inciting others to do similar.

It’s a tough one to solve WR I spent three years in Traffic at a time when pursuits were actually worse but now ,with the advent of social media, it’s a form of narcissism in lives devoid of meaning Personally, rather than attack old drivers ,I would increase minimum age to 21 for a start Death by reckless should be mandatory life Drug driving a life ban and car seizure Same with drink drivers We are seeing slaughter Kids are fearless and feel immortal They ain’t Finally, all police officers need to front up to all criminals

| Recent car deaths on 17:15 - Aug 23 with 3596 views | trampie | Police should not chase people in cars that are showing no sign of stopping in lots of circumstances (going throw built up areas etc), not referring to this recent tragedy as we don't know what happened yet but in general it's been a bug bear of mine for years, it's not worth it, lots of innocent people have been killed and not just by the people being chased either. I said to the wife early on today that it would seem like a bit of a swizz if the police chase had been called off something like 2 minutes before the crash, now its been reported they are claiming they called it off 10 seconds before the crash, I'm not disputing that but it would only be a technicality if true, 10 seconds mind you, I'm not a fan of police chasing not stopping cars is it worth it if its not murder or terrorism when they will probably catch them anyway via the registration and cameras, many years ago I remember reading if I recall a mother and baby in a pram killed in the West Midlands by a police car chasing somebody and I think the crime was stealing a loaf of bread or something relatively minor. | |

Many are driving under age or without a licence so driving legislation means nothing. Driving the wrong way down the motorway is the latest craze, putting it on social media as bravado to incite others to go further is what it's all about. Stop the social media and you will reduce the problem.

Pretty poor pot even by your standards. Just to be clear even if it was 10 seconds or 10 bloody minutes if the the scrots hadn't been acting like prix ,endngering other peoples lives just so they can seeming look big on social media then those two coppers wouldn't be lying a dead and two families devestated , the 5 others I couldn't give a flying fig , they made they're choice to do what they did ,the coppers didn't plan on endangering others ,they did.

The point has gone straight over your head, sometimes it's just not worth chasing due to the danger to the public, it may well be they went down a slip road the wrong way and at that point the police decided not to chase which would be fair enough, but as a generalisation sometimes it's just not worth it, I would expect the police to have an experienced senior person in the office to give the order not to chase if they deem it's not worth it, in lots of cases quite possibly it would make no difference to the outcome but in some cases it might make a difference.

My God Police should also stop searching anyone as they might run away and get run over or even fall off a cliff or high building Police horses shouldn’t squash or intimidate people as they’re so big And police dogs should be muzzled and Malinois replaced with Bichon Frisse or a miniature poodle And as for black shirts , I mean that s nazi ish Yeah, kids with not a drivers licence nor common sense should be allowed to do what they want on the public highways and those carrying drugs or swag shouldn’t be pursued either In fact , defund the police Innit ,Bach

Malinois are immigrants and we should not have immigrants over here. No don't chase people for stealing a loaf of bread when it's obvious they won't stop and they have a description and a registration, it's not worth it.

My God, you’ve posted some rubbish on here in the past but this is way and beyond. So, what you are saying is that car thieves, drug runners, drink drivers, drug drivers, uninsured, unlicensed, murderers, those committing common assault or any other crime should be allowed to get away and cause carnage on the roads. And don’t say if they’re not chased then they won’t drive recklessly because they will especially done if those listed above. Are you all gir defunding the police by any chance.

I've never run away from anything, I sorted out a serious road traffic accident back in the day and the police stayed on the sidelines and let me get on with tending to the injured in the middle of the road and directing the traffic when they stood on the pavement, there was rumours of police corruption afterwards, one of the people involved had close ties to the police, statements lost by the police etc etc, I was told later by somebody else involved that it was done to keep somebody out of jail, police hey, just like the Swansea riots they hang back then as well didn't they and let the locals sort it out.

Yes! Each chase is evaluated for risk. Going down the wrong lane if a motorway is very high risk so letting them getting away is the best option. Now, you tell me why the categories I mentioned above should be allowed to go free just because they fail to stop. What do you think will happen if that becomes standard practice? How many lives killed by drunk drivers or drugged up? Use your loaf man, you’ve just not thought it through!

My opinion for what its worth is you can not let anarchy rule. I have no issues with stop and search or pursuit when someone fails to stop when told. Failure to do so should result in immediate imprisonment. Law abiding citizens have nothing to worry about, those who deserve it should be punished. We are just too soft.

There we are you agree with me then that in some circumstances the police should not do car chases. It depends on the seriousness of the crime, the danger to the public, chasing somebody for stealing a loaf of bread when it becomes obvious they won't stop and it's school closing time in a built up area is not a good idea imo.

It’s been so for too long Criminals have to fear That’s hardly the case in Courts Getting locked up is a major inconvenience for them especially if pursued by a police Malinois Us or them It’s not ideal We all have to put up with inconvenience if we are to sort out rats
