The actual nuclear deterrent is not affected, despite some of the headlines out there and are operational.
Our governments have let us down with the current state of limbo regards astute but it could be argued that the previous lack of threat had led to the current situation. The lack of dry dock facilities especially those with a nuclear licence has bottlenecked the maintenance of the attack submarines but there is also a plan to bring them "ready" apparently.

I totally agree on the subs point. I understand that the RN can make at least one of the subs ready quickly.
We have the eurofighter and I think they have 4 permanently stationed in the Falklands and they have the ability to destroy multiple Argentinian targets simultaneously - I'm guessing the satellite intelligence is working overtime | |

Nah they wouldn’t stand a chance. And they know it. They had the element of surprise last time, got a good foothold and still got unceremoniously booted off. They are hoping for pressure from Trump to force their hand politically, as he is greedily eyeing up the oil field. Fortunately he’ll be gone in just over two years. Perhaps even sooner than that as his health seems to be deteriorating before our very eyes on a daily basis. | |
