I don't like to single players out, but again why not go with what worked with Lissah and Key and have Cabango benched. Everyone clearly can see what Matos cannot see. I am still convinced Burgess would be in the startint lineup if he wasn't injured. [Post edited 12 Sep 13:54]

We're giving up chances that we wouldn't have earlier in the season, that's for sure. Fulton is usually a bit quicker to sniff things out than we have been so far.

Review.
Just who has never played out wide for Swansea is not working hard enough to back up Idah’s efforts. Three times he should have been more aware. Widell who has played out wide looks dangerous and he needs to make more runs into the area.
Cabango has been excellent as has Key.
Referee is a pillock. Many would have given that shirt pull as a penalty. And he seems to have his eye off the ball when it comes to a Swans player being instructed or fouled.
Both goals superb from closing down and opponents mistakes. Excellent, we took advantage of that. Need to go for the throat this half. |  |

I think what I'm not sure about with Stamenic clarified itself in my brain about ten minutes before half time, and it's more my expectation than him.
He's playing like a #6 in the #8 role. Neat, tidy, retaining possession and playing the ball about well, if a little slowly. That's not what I want in an #8. I want a little more action. A few line breaking runs. Drive the play forward a bit more.
I think he's capable of it but needs some encouragement. Not sure the way we play lends itself to that. | |

I think my view boils down to two main factors: firstly, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Burnley side look that poor, and no doubt the mistake for the first goal really weighed heavily on them; and secondly, how a team not currently at their best managed to score against us and create so much danger. Definitely, Matos needs to make a big decision regarding his two centre-backs. Personally, I feel much more comfortable with Lissah and Welsh, though I understand he uses Filip as cover for Key, but defensively I really hope we can work on that better during this international break. As for the rest of the players, I think they did well—nothing too impressive when taking the opponent as a benchmark, but it’s good to see them running hard at home with real desire. I liked Yeo; he pulled off a clever backheel that broke the mould, and if he does that more often, it changes the somewhat linear game we usually play. I'm dying to see Monga! |  |

Good synopsis. We presented them with some gilt edged chances which if they’d been more clinical might have made a difference to the result.
What was good though is that we didn’t buckle after conceding. I don’t know if their goal was o/s or not but they could quite easily have thought the Gods were against them but they didn’t and scored a third. That wouldn’t have happened last year.
Is this our year? On the evidence so far I’d say unlikely. Defensively we are a bit suspect and better side would have capitalised today. Burnley, who I like as a club were sadly dire. I hope they get themselves some wins and go up the table. | |
