Says there is little he can do because of Global events.

He forgot to mention that a £2.00 litre of diesel has 86p in tax!

The refineries are profiteering from this. A lot.
A certain politician has a husband with £7m of shares in a certain oil company. So they are not going to rock the boat.
I will say no more.
As you know, I sell the stuff.

yes the oil companies are making bigger profits again. Burnham could do something. The petrol stations aren't coining it.

Oh, and 100m barrels will be released in the coming days, which will force the price down a bit.

Within 4 months, i.e after the elections in the USA and Israel. Politicians are happy to see the public suffer for a few more months if it helps their side in the elections. It really is shocking but totally expected.

Fuel is now cheaper than in 2022.

Petrol is cheaper than it was at its peak in 2022, but diesel has surpassed its previous high point and is now at a record high.

After the initial surge in the Spring and early summer of 2022, the price of fuel started dropping and was on a consistent downward trend until February and March this year when, it went started climbing significantly. It’s gone up ever since and the cause is the tension / war in the middle east.
