On Sky Arts at the moment...(as in this morning). Always liked it...It had a certain mystique...very dark at times (especially the episode today). Sort of went against the grain and was pretty subversive. Will be watching them again as they are shown...

Brilliant show at times, especially the early series when they were still drawing on Dahl’s source material. All eight series are available on demand if you don’t want to wait for broadcast.

Also if you like that, watch Inside No 9 if you’re not already. It’s half way through its fifth series on BBC2. All episodes available in iPlayer. Truly brilliant TV.

Some big names were in Tales of the unexpected, incredible writing by Dahl.
He used to introduce some of the episodes, a modern day Aesop he was.
