When I was first promoted in plod,my area was south Liverpool which including the Church Lennon and Macca first played and his old house in Menlove Ave,as well as Ringo's old house and George's home in Speke. I could have started a tours business myself .In those days, only the well informed were visiting the Beatles sites mainly via taxi. Lennon was well know but not exactly popular at all as a man and a boy.
I also,used to live in Hoylake where Cynthia lived and was well know and liked. John was a kunt to her and Julian.
All things said,great musician and songwriter but filthy individual.
