Well even the lowest figure of 115,000 excess deaths since the start of the pandemic is too many. Thankfully now we have the Vacinations the number of deaths will be low but will be even lower as more people get vaccinated.
Sunday's first dose vaccination total was low hopefully that was because no one wanted to book an appointment because of the football. Hopefully Monday's figures will increase. | |

Only 75% of London's adult population has had the first dose. That means 2.2 million adult Londoners are unvaccinated which is more thana third of the UK population of unvaccinated adults.
Without London 92% of the UK adult population would now have had the first dose.

Those figures are incorrect.
65% of adults in London have had the first dose and 45% both.
Few reasons for that :
- higher percentage of people from minority ethnic backgrounds who were initially reluctant
- highest migrant population (not registered with GP)
- younger population (average age of London is only 35, so availability been for much less time)
London also has lower rates than most of England and lower deaths.
Last couple of weeks London has vaccinated bigger percentage than anywhere else as they’ve opened bug drop in centres to combat the issues raised above.
Not sure what the Mayor can do about the factors affecting it apart from perhaps not be Muslim so people will stop blaming him for stuff that’s absolutely nothing to do with him. | | | |

A letter?
We have flashing bill boards everywhere, letters galore, religious leaders leading house to house drives, community centres, churches, temples and mosques and now we have mass vaccine centres including museums, hotels and football grounds.
London is vaccinating a bigger percentage than anyone else now. It didn’t earlier as, to repeat, it has a much younger population and the vaccine wasn't available. Also a large migrant population (many of whom won’t actually be here as they went home even though they show in population numbers). Loads left at the start of the pandemic. And large numbers of communities that for whatever reason won’t get jabbed. The Hasidic community for example were resisting it for ages although I don’t know whether that’s changed.
The Mayor can’t do anything more than he’s done. Similarly it’s not the government’s fault is it if people aren’t getting jabbed. Everyone knows it’s available and that they should do it.
Is it Drakeford’s fault that idiots like AFD keep on with their incessant bollox and won’t get it done?

The uptake over 80 is about 90% so not sure how many people that 10% would be.
There are 130,000 people aged 85 and over in London according to latest stats so 10% of that would be 13,000. There are 1.1m over 65 so depends how that splits. I’d be surprised if there are 470,000 between 80 and 84 inclusive (to get you the 600,000 you’d need if the 60,000 is correct) if there are then only 500,000 between 65 and 80. | | | |
