40 years ago, if you had told Hard Rock Mike that I'd be sincerely excited the next time ABBA dropped a new album, I probably would have jumped in front of a moving school bus right then and there.
But after all the worthless crap music of the last 20 years or so, I'm at least a little intrigued and nostalgic, if not totally excited.
Years ago it was style-cramping and extremely 'not-with-it' to admit to being an ABBA fan and liking their songs! Now many a rock star has come out and admitted a love for that group!
The Sex Pistols Glen Matlock along with Sid Vicious were fans of the group along with Lemmy from Motorhead etc. The group was superb, they wrote great catchy tunes that are still memorable decades after! Sure were A+ musical geniuses!

Nothing wrong with a bit of ABBA.
A bit off subject, I know you're a big punk fan! This YouTube guy has some gems within his YouTube channel including The Sex Pistols and The Clash! The joys of modern software!

A very good friend of mine gets quite angry about music snobbery, and he's right. People like what they like.
ABBA are perfect pop music. Tunes like Dancing Queen & Waterloo will still be being sung and danced to 100 years from now. Nowt wrong with that.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I'm sure there is a lot of snobbery when admitting to your music taste.
I just liked what I liked, I wasn't a fan of ABBA, neither did I like Queen, and I hated punk, rap and Elvis (Costello was good though)
It still exists to a degree. Admit you're a fan of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran or Mumford & Sons and you can expect a barrage.
For the record, I don't mind Coldplay, couldn't care less about Ed Sheeran and adore the first two M&S albums.
