Squad going into next season 13:41 - Mar 13 with 620 viewsmagicdaps10

Clearly we need a defender or 2 and a creative player or 2 also.

Fisher, Benda

Christie, Naughton, Cabango, Cooper, Manning, Ogbeta

Grimes, Downes, Walsh, Ntcham

Patterson, Garrick

Piroe, Obefami, Joseph.

That would leave Joel L, Bennett, Fulton, Whittaker, Cullen, Smith, Hamer, Dhanda leaving. Not included loan players who won't return or for instance Burns who I don't think is what we need.
I would include Oli Cooper and Dan Williams but not sure if they will be loaned out again, if not then they would be included in the squad.

For me we need 2 x centre halves and 2 attacking players, one who can play in at 10 and another capable of playing out wide also.

Big summer coming up, can see the potential in the set up but we need to get the right players to push on next season.
Its been a hard watch on times but each game it is becoming clearer to myself what we need.

Discuss all, be it the squad I have chosen, players leaving or/and what is needed.

Why do you think that the likes of
Christie, Cabango, Cooper, Manning, Ogbeta
Downes, Walsh, Ntcham
Patterson, Garrick
Piroe, Obefami, Joseph.
would want to go through another season like this one?
Especially those players continuously shuffled around in positions and tactics that do not exploit their natural ability and expertise.

Oh Good.
It Martin is till here ,we will see kids on loan come in,injured players,or simply journeymen passing through.
I can see many leave because of him.It can't be much fun to play a we do.Do you not agree?

Do you think Piroe is happy. By far our only real goalscorer and one who puts in a shift. His reward?-being shifted to a midfield position where he is not as effective.
Downes is a great young player, being elected as a central defender along with Naughton, neither central defenders. We bring in a big tall centre half and dont even put him on the bench. We see a lad bought in who is injured and still not really fully fit yet selected to come on and risk aggravating his injury.

Imagine how Ben Hamer feels?

It is all about who and how many will leave?.Until we know that, then all we are doing is wasting time on this forum even mentioning it.

Have a pleasant afternoon

I would expect them to want to stay and give next season a better crack, of course I would.

Keep the core, bring in players in positions that are clearly needing some improvement in and things can get better.

They are watching their reputations as footballers go down the tubes.
I can hear it now from other managers, no I wouldn't want them they played that boring crap football as Swansea.
I see them wanting to go somewhere where they can actually show their abilities before the above happens.

I suspect the players who are subject of a decent offer, or who are on high wages will be moved on. If the players have confidence in Martin, his coaching team, his system and they can see light at the end of the tunnel they’ll be inclined to stay, but if they don’t they’ll be looking for the door. Being part of a losing team with no win bonuses etc won’t incentivise them to stay.

Players on high wages like Fulton and Bennett will be off if we can offload them.
If a good offer comes in then players will be off.

The rest will stay.

For a long time, I've suggested Cabango leaves before his career is stunted at Swansea.
Naughton could carry on but I have a feeling he'll retire. Bennett has no future here either and nor it seems does Cooper or Fulton
We have seen Manning, Lati not being consistent.
Burnes' and Williams' experiences may well put off PL loaning us players too.
Midfield and attack could do with changes. Grimes for all the comments, for me, is too slow but. Could Patterson be the answer?
I'd like a tall forward to offer something different but we have Cullen to come back but performances at Lincoln suggest he night not feature for us again.
Summer transfer window will be far more difficult than January.
Our younger player will have to come through IMO.

I think Cullen and Whittaker loan have shown that they are not ready for the champ, struggled at Lincoln so it's a good indicator.
Garrick has had a good season t Plymouth, he can be used as a striker, attacking midfielder or right wing back with us next season, think he could suprise a few next season.

Great op.
Someone who can run with the ball ?

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I would say, hence my someone who can play 10 and out wide also.

There is a lot of concern with some but its clear what we need. I think there has been a big improvement with the defence and being comfortable with the ball, Cabango is improving each week there but we still need a few more options in there.

If we keep Piroe and Obafemi and it's a big IF then creativity is much needed to link the breaking of the oppositions press to getting in behind their back 3 or 4.

Its not a million miles away, it's certainly frustrating but it's becoming clear the issues that need solving on the pitch.

There was no coincidence Martin wanted a no 10 in the Jan window, none at all.
