He might well be
For people of my age ,it is normally Laver and it probably still is but Nadal is the greatest tennis warrior of all time without any doubt

two sets down ,10 years older makes no odds to him.

As a sportsman a true great .

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Had Covid in December too.

Incredible performance, I didn’t give him too much hope to be fair, didn’t think his body would hold up. To beat Medvedev and come back from 2 sets down is remarkable.

As you say, a true great. Now record holding Slam winner with 21. Will be hot favourite to pick up his 22nd at the French too with Novak in doubt over that.

Amazing final and incredible come back, almost 5 and a half hours.

Great player, great game (in the final), hollow victory...I will never see him as the genuine winner of that tournament, because some politicians removed the favourite (who was fit and available).

...and deep down, Nadal will know that too.

Djokavic is scum
A lying, deceitful duplicitou piece of garbage. You are an anti vaxer and one who hate any restrictions. It is here we diviate.

I believed we should have had far stricker laws to fight covid that were policed as they should have been. Too many have died.

Serbs rallying around their own kind is nowt new. They've always done so and caused mayhem with their misplaced sense of national pride.

Nadal is a full on sporting behemoth and he might well have beaten Djoko.

Nadal worldwide is respected.Djoko is not.

There is a reason for that.

Djokevic is not "scum" and I am not an "anti-vaxxer".
I am triple jabbed.

The fact is that the reigning champion (and a player who has dominated that tournament) was fit and ready to play. He was invited and turned up...and then a government full of scumbag politicians thought they would play their games with him in order to make a point to their populace.

Nobody has any idea what the result would have been if Djokevic had played, but I know who my money would have been on.
So Nadal and w*nkers can pretend he won it fair and square but the whole world saw that he didn't.

"Nadal worldwide is respected.Djoko is not."
Well it's a good job that Djokevic is a sportsman who plays tennis and not a youtube influencer then, because in sport how people feel about you doesn't matter a single shit.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I think Djokovic would have won but that is academic. Nadal had a really bad injury a while ago that he really struggled to overcome or is that a figment of my imagination? Hard to say who is the best but Nadal has the upper hand for a while.

He didn’t think he would be able to play tennis again around 6 weeks before the start of the tournament.

Was considering retiring.

1) ...because even though I and my family are jabbed I am not for forcing experimental medicine on people against their will...it's not difficult.

I base that opinion on my knowledge of History.
It is a bad road to go down.

2)...because I am for free speech and actual science...the kind where different scientists are allowed to make their arguments and experiment to come to a solution...not this 'Scientism' where everybody pretends that one small group of Scientists are not to be questioned and nobody is allowed to discuss the holes in their theories, as if these people are Gods who walk the earth.
Only an idiot would go along with that.

3)...because this is a new virus (a bio weapon) and a new form of vaccine. It could have gone wrong. If people who question the narrative are silenced we will never find out.

In short I took a gamble on the vaccine. I am not naive though and trusting without question, like a child...and I have deeply held principles on freedom and freedom of speech.

I rejected the religion of my childhood but I will forever be thankful for a religious education...it taught me that human beings were sacred, to be valued...it taught me that a quest for the truth was vital, it taught me how to think for myself rather than just accept what somebody says. Our R.E. lessons were never the teacher telling you what Catholics think and this was correct.
Our R.E. lessons were framed;
- here is a question (moral or philosophical)
- here is what Catholics think and why.
- Here is what other religions think and their reasons.
- Here is what Aetheists think and their reasons.
- Now what do you think?
...and there would follow a debate. There was no right answers, just an attempt to reason.

I am starting to realise that this seriousness about thinking, reasoning, the importance of being consistent, coherent, rational was vital to me and seems to be an area that many missed out on in State School...ultimately I reasoned my way out of buying into the religion (Christianity gives people the tools to do that - it is the total opposite of Islam that tries to mentally imprison people)...but I will forever be grateful.

It is this education that leads me to conclude that what those in power are doing to the people in the name of public health is fundamentally wrong, immoral and corrupt.

I actually picked and put a little wager on Nadal to win the tournament as i thought Djokevic`s state of mind would not be right although that theory did not matter once he got kicked out.
