Swansea City hold the best possession stats in the league where as Blackburn are bottom. Swansea are averaging 66 per cent of the ball, with Rovers down at 42 per cent. It was 72-28 in the Swans’ favour at Ewood Park on the opening day but Rovers came away with all three points and three times the number of efforts at goal. Rovers won’t be fazed by Swansea having a lot of the ball, the swans have only managed 28 goals in their 27 matches, and Mowbray’s side always look dangerous on the turnover of possession. Indeed, Swansea's style could well play into Blackburn’s strengths.

As the article says despite us having almost three quarters of the possesion at Ewood park Blackburn managed thrre times as many attempts at our goal...and won.....
Similar story all season and the same at MKDOns last season and we are asked to trust and believe in the process?
The process needs to change as it is not working and didnt work at MKDons. You dont need high possesion stats to play attractive attacking football ..yes .you do need to have the ball but what you need to do is use the ball not keep passing it around ...look for balls like that Grimes played to Obafemi on Tuesday more of that.put balls behind the oppostion defence....Please Russell take a look at some DVDs of matches form Martinez and Rodgers time here.....it will show you what you need to know | |
