Tomorrow is the start of players finding out their futures 22:52 - May 9 with 1062 viewsKeithHaynes

Martin is determined to straighten it all out this week and next by all accounts.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Good to know mate.

At least he will have more than 6 days to prepare for next season.

Let's hope the owners back him but I seriously doubt it.

after a full season he has failed to prepare us yet the likes Cooper and Heckingbottom parachuted into clubs below us at the time several games in with no preseason now face themselves in the playoffs
we spent £5.5m on players last summer Martin Martin sidelined Piroe and Obafemi early doors..the club have backed him bring in his choice Pato we added the likes of Downes and Natcham Rhys Williams. In January Wolfe,Burns and Ogebeta arrived.. I would have thought Martin would have had some input but definitely did with Fisher who has added nothing more than we had before...Understand Ogebeta was injured which is another story but neither he or Burns seem to be in the managers thinking.
He has had time and backing

They have a gang. Some are even the same person.
All very odd.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Its because I am passionate about my club.

FBs post talks about Martin having time and backing...my post just points out after a full season we still dont like a team who knows what it is doing....plus he has been "backed" with players.

Apart from the double what has been good about this season?
We finished with two defeats one against almost a third string QPR side at home, during our 9 game unbeaten run we twice surrendered 3 goals leads and havent won in 6 games rescuing a draw at home to relegated Barnsley too.

I know ive been on Martins back since early doors butforthis narratvie about time and players still to be kicking around is farcical

Take no notice of the likes of lifey and fireboy. We'll never in their class for fanship. They are also just as brassed off but don't have the guts to admit so. Neither are stupid people.
I would be more pleased to partake of your company than most on here.

You are a realist and we need these people.

I like a decent continental lager .

The reality is we are still in the second tier of, which some people class as, the most difficult league system in World football, we go again next season.

Look at some of the clubs who would love to be in our position, Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland and Ipswich for example.

Look at the sides at the foot of division 2 and about to drop out of the football league, when you’ve done so go to the nearest mirror and give your head a wibble.

But what does that mean though?

Again, if Man City come 5th next year do you really think they would consider it a successful season because Darlington are rubbish and they should count themselves lucky they aren’t them?

I’m bemused by this logic.

If we are performing below the ability of our current squad then that is a bad season. If we are performing above the ability of our current squad then that is a good season.

Have a count how many players you would swap from the starting XI of all the clubs in the league. The second you get more than 5 (becoming the majority of the team) list the club.

There should be no more than 5 or 6. That would be the rough position we should be aiming for. What we have done 50 years ago doesn’t come into it.

but that doesnt change the fact we have underperformed this season.

Last season we finished 4th and loat the play off final

this season we finish 15th we lost more games than we won I keep repeating we had a poor end to the season.

My original post onthis thread was in response to a post which mentioned giving MArtin time more than the six days he had as "preaseason" and lets hope he is backed with players.

As i said Martin has had all season yet we are still no further forward than we were after 10 games.....we spent £5.5M in the summer we added quality with Downes Pato and Natcham....we had Piroe and Obafemi all upgrades on last season....we added more in January I was just pointing out Martin has had players and time.

I We are still in the second tier but I see nothing that fills me with confidence we will have a "succesful" season next year....and that doesnt necesaarily mean promotion ....
