| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Brighton are now an established premier league club. They see Benda as good enough to play in the Premier League at some stage. Our coach saw him basicallly not as good as Fisher . Fisher is free of offers from other clubs

Expecting him to play the Martin way from the off was littered with issues. It’s a shame.,

I think Benda had a bit of a rough deal last year and i think with him Martin made a big mistake, he isnt a complete natural on the ball but was encouraged to pass too much, should have kicked long more when under pressure. (Martin tactics in his head). A much better traditional GK than Hamer or Fisher. Needed time but got shipped off after acouple mistakes.

A goalkeeper is there to primarily keep goal. His defenders should be the pnes who "play the ball out" if required. To do this ,we need players of a quality our club stature cannot afford. It's that simple Benda has a presence ,Fisher has not. Every team starts with a strong keeper. We have tolerate too much. I see unfettered support for Martin and little for players like Benda,Whittaker,Joseph,,Fulton,Bennett ,all of whom will not look back with any affection for our club when they leave.

I would say Fulton, Bennett and possibly Benda have had a very good income and standard of living off us for a couple years and have little to complain about. [Post edited 5 Jul 2022 9:40]

Fair point but their careers have hardly benefitted. Bale went to Real Madrid and he didn’t suffer at all financially either but it killed his club career

I don't think Bale is too worried with 5 Champions League medals as well as a pot of gold. Without Euro's for Wales and a world Cup coming up.

He is suffering from wear and tear and cannot now perform consistently at top level. He can however turn in spectacular cameos and his reputation alone will put the fear of god into Iranians and Americans . He may under these circumstances have extended his career by not playing so much. Giggs played less by retiring from international football at 33. Bale plays less club games.

Giggs and playing international football should never be in the same sentence.

If Benda is a great prospect and great stopper and under contract I would keep him. In Martin's opinion perhaps his passing accuracy and play under pressure is not up to scratch. This is why the train every day to get up to scratch. Coaching these skills put in in the U23 for 2-3 months to practice this then put in the first team once he has done so. Swansea have played this way since De Vries. All these skills should be finely honed by now. Going on loan to Peterborough who play a different way is no use at all. It seem Swansea are keen on getting some cash rather than developing the player. A whole era of prospects are being written off. Benda, Brandon Cooper, Ollie Cooper, Garrick, Whittaker Cullen and Joseph. Players should not be allowed to go so far in the system if they do not have the skills necessary to be a possession based side. This is why philosophy is so important. Being a Swansea player defines the player as a player comfortable in possession calm under pressure and takes care of the ball. If you cannot do this you do not get past 18 at this club. Easier to train a goalkeeper to find a team mate surely, than to teach one basic physical courage .
