Apollo rocket fuel can't melt steel beams. Bill Gates is behind it.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It’s an incredible feat of adventure, innovation, science and engineering and a great example of the human passion for discovery. Going to other worlds is amazing.

So when the ancient mariners and great explorers sailed west and landed on the shores of the Americas for the first time did they come back and say “no point going back, we’ve already been there.”?

I reckon it’s best we stay away from other planets, we’ll only feck them up like we’ve done this one.

Captain James T Kirk of the USS Enterprise would look at this mission and laugh .

Brought up watching Star Trek , and Lost in Space , still black and white tele then for the latter show ,

Loved them programmes , Dr Smith you rotter , the film adaptation with Matt Le Blanc as the hero pilot was enjoyable too .

With the technology advancement of the last 30/40 years, going to the moon now should be like a school field trip. It's one area we have probably devolved in.

Even when you know, you never know?

I would surmise there are two reasons for this. The space race and all those advancements were done within the wider scope of the Cold War. There was a rush on to be the first to do these things and prove supremacy. Once that was complete there was no need for it anymore. Since the fall of the Soviet Union we have until recently quite happily lived complacently in a relatively peaceful world. Technology always advances faster during wartime.

The second is we seem to have lost all our sense of adventure. You can see it on this thread. Society is filled with luddites. Imagine people at Kitty Hawk watching the Wright Brothers incredible flying machine soar into the air tutting and saying “what’s the point of this? We’ve already got hot air balloons.”

The moon will never lose its wonder for me. Imagine all the billions of humans over millions of years staring up at it in wonder. Pretty much every human who has ever lived is connected by this shining bit of rock in the sky. Now after all this time we actually have the chance to go there and film it and share the experience with all humanity and people are actually against it? It’s madness!

It's guaranteed that when they get the moon landing craft moving they will see a 20mph speed limit and next to it another sign saying drakeford was here.
