Ollie Cooper and Cabango and Arabia. No Lawrence this time. 13:24 - Sep 4 with 625 viewsReslovenSwan1

Both these guys are Welsh and both came through the Swansea system are now regulars. Cymru have a limited player pool and if Swansea are testing the top 6 and playing well they must come into consideration for the squad for Qatar.

Lets face it the Welsh 'depth chart' is not that great. James Lawrence and Lockyear are no great shakes. Regan Poole maybe and our own Brandon Cooper who is not active are options.

Ampadu, Rodon and Ben Davies are the back three but not much else about. Joe is prone to knocks. Ben has a good shout. He did pull out of a squad on one occasion I recall. Ampadu might be moved into midfield.

Ollie has a decent chance I reckon. Joe Morrell, Johny Williams are lower league battlers. Tom Lawrence is out of favours and a winger. Allen and Harry Wilson and Wilson is more of a runners and sloppy in possession. Page is loyal however and would probably stay with the lower league guys. Ollie will have to continue and progress to get in and impress in some preparation games perhaps. (Nations league)

I'm sure Page will stick with his favourites, especially as the increased squad size means he doesn't need to be as picky with actual quality. I wouldn't even rule out David Brooks going as a sentimental option.

You look at the last squad and there are obvious players to drop out. Oliver Denham and Rubin Colwill aren't playing much at Cardiff afaik, Harris just getting bench apps. Morrell, Wilson, Matondo dealing with injuries. Wes Burns and Matt Smith doing fine but in League One. Jonny Williams and Chris Gunter down in League Two.

There's probably a few too many attacking midfield options to choose from for Ollie even if he has a good next dozen or so games. Any other position and a few good months in the Championship would probably nail down a spot. Nathan Broadhead probably gets a callup if he carries on as he is. Tyler Roberts. Tom Lawrence if hatchets are buried.
