He scored a decent goal, but I thought Manning was poor on Saturday. His man had far too much time and space, Manning seemed out of position , day dreaming.
He took ages to take throw ins when if he had done it straight away players were available to throw it to.
He needs to up his game for tomorrow.

And his needless foul at the end could have lost us the game given their set piece dominance.
He has always given free kicks away like that.

Action not words please.

Why have we had / got so many away games at the moment. How did that work out?

The game tomorrow is rescheduled from the queen leaving us.
Would have been played by now.
But yes, a lot of recent away games.

Considering Wigan had scored twice from set pieces, an absolutely stupid thing to do.

We let the wrong left back go in Bidwell

Bidwell looked a lot fitter at the start of last season.
Who was the better fullback hard to tell.
Steve Cooper tried to playing Manning on the wing and Bidwell at full back but reverted to Manning at full back why because once Manning got up field he tended to forget his defensive duties and would leave the slower Bidwell unprotected against the faster wingers.

When Bidwell played in the wing position he protected Manning being more aware of his defensive duties even though he did attack the ball coming in on the back post and had a nice cross on him at times but not really a winger

Manning seems to struggle at times not knowing if he is winger or full back and even as part of a three man defence last year would found to be further forward than our ball carrying centreback with no thought of defense leaving us wide open.
Manning has had some good games this year either driving forward chasing games or shoring up the three man defence when he realised he is needed to defend a lead.
But when the game is in the balance he does lose his concentration a bit
He is quite good in the air, attacking the ball when marking a winger but struggled against bigger centerforwards

but that should be a problem as Martin prefers players to nudge forwards out of the way letting the ball go over the defenders head rather than attacking the high ball meaning we start let the opposition of the hook by playing safely out from the back again!
