I've been saying it, all the crap they put in our food is making us ill, driving up caners and heart problems,

Who eats chicken?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Add to this that the UK Gov now allows food packaging with 20,000x more of the harmful chemicals than the EU.

Oh and the absolutely atrocious quality meat we will be bombarded with from Aus.

Poll: When will Russell Martin no longer be Swansea manager?

Cook from scratch, use vegetables and fresh fish. If you love a bit of meat in your gob go to your local butchers. It’s not expensive if you utilise your purchases for the next day, just saying. It works and IS cheaper.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Fresh quality food is very expensive here now Keith. Many can't afford it, just try and completely cut out any waste and theoretically it brings the price down.

Local butchers...nice one Keith There are hardly any left. Even supermarkets don't have butchers anymore.

The nearest "local butcher" to us is now a 15 minute drive plus a 10 minute walk after parking.

When I was a kid we had 2 butchers, 2 greengrocers, a fishmonger and a fruiterer in less than 10 minutes walk from our front door.

Maybe it's different in Spain but over here the communities have been destroyed by the supermarkets.

We have a local butcher ,one that took over from the former Dewhursts..
The meat is not that much better than most supermarkets.
That said, we have one in West Kirby ,an old style butcher, who specialised in game / venison. Pretty expensive stuff ,but he is still on business ,so maybe Keith has a point .
It all depends on the demography of the area .

We tried to use a supposed old style butchers in Swansea only to be told that they were "halal" although not run by Muslims as far as I know, all the staff are (or at least seem to be) white British.

If we had a local butcher and greengrocer we would use them. Trying to buy good quality meat and veg in Skewen is hard, maybe one of our erstwhie posters can point me in the right direction? I don't mind driving a few miles, in fact there is a local Butcher in Pontardawe and after reading about the UPF's and being reminded of what I already knew, maybe I'll drive over there once a week and stock the freezer up!

Probably one in the likes of Builth or Llandrindod.

I am very opposed to ritual painful slaughter found in halal and kosher.
It’s @ religion…so what ….enough to inflict appalling cruelty

maybe we should all go veggie then, in 10 years or so, all these animals will be extinct and we can't cause them any more suffering

I don't suppose Lions, Tigers or Sharks worry about the suffering they cause when they catch their prey.

yeah that's the drive and walk. I use the multi storey because parking in Neath town is hard, the wardens are always around.
