I've dealt with a couple of issues at work today, I'm sitting here waiting for a service recovery process to complete, where pure incompetence has shut down a large installation.
I see it almost every day people who are not competent as human beings, they do not think things through and do not take responsibility for ensuring things are in good order.

I get angry with this stuff. I said on another thread when a child is identified at risk there should be a responsible person identified to support and monitor daily activities. This could be a neighbour, family member, volunteer from a local religious institution etc. just to ensure that things are on an even keel.
We have an aged neighbour, we are listed as a telephone contact if they press their emergency lanyard and one of us calls in each morning, another neighbour each evening. We don't do anything but just check things are okay, it takes a couple of minutes.
I'm not being sexist, mothers tend to be great at this type of work where a child is involved. My first son did not sleep, a neighbour used to have him for an hour a day just to give my wife a rest, the neighbour thought it was brilliant. [Post edited 17 Jan 2024 17:34]

I have spent most of my career deeply involved with those said to have "chaotic" lifestyles. No doubt the finger will be pointed at Social Services, and the Police, and other relevant authorities, probably with some justification.
The ultimate issue remains however that far too many people who can barely take care of themselves are having children. You need a licence to watch TV but you can pump out kids with impunity. |  |

The last people to blame her are social services and the police.
Bronson Battersby had at least one sister and a mother, both of whom have had the audacity to be interviewed to say they don't blame social services. So they shouldn't they need to look a lot closer to home.
Why on earth did it take the authorities to even raise the alarm?
