Haven't seen it mentioned so apologies if it's a ferdy, but anyone else think Fletcher would make a good fit as our much-touted 'enforcer' seeing as his days at Utd seem to be over.

Appreciate he probably only has a season or two in him but at least he's wouldn't need time to get used to the league as a signing from abroad might.

I just heard them talking about him on Talksport and thought the same thing.
A player with the pedigree to add a bit of experience to our team and as he's not getting any game time at Man U, maybe they'd let him go on a free ?
Will be a good signing for someone in the PL

LVG has said he's free to go, even if there was a fee I'd imagine it would be minimal.

Would also add some much needed leadership on the pitch, something (I feel) we often lack.

Probably high-ish wages and he hasn't had the best fitness history.

I wouldn't complain if we had him onboard though.

Probably looking at around £80k per week and you might get 15 games a season out of him.

It's a no from this particular Neath judge.

Depends on how much. If we can pretty much get him for free(or for low money) then I guess the higher wages make up for it. Kind of like the gomis deal.

Doesn't he have bad guts?

I understand your concern, but I think any club offering him a contract would be stupid not to build in some appearance clause, whether it's a low-ish basic wage and appearance fee on top, or a bonus at end of season if he's played certain number of games.

Which probably means he'll end up at West Ham on a bumper contract.

His health issues mean I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

And I've had the same complaint as him for 24 years.

He's been pretty woeful since he's been back which is a real shame as he was shaping up to be a great player before his illness and from all accounts it's taken a lot of hard work from him and no doubt those around him to get him back in the game.

He would add experience and leadership but is that a major concern? (genuine question I have no idea), wages may or may not be an issue it's impossible to know what his demands would be.

Yup very, I expect everyone had a lot to say last night which I missed and don't really want to read back through it!

It won't happen now but and pretty pointless me posting it but hey ho.Victor Wanyama would have been the ideal DM for us.He was pricey but if its a enforcer type rock we're after then he'd have been ideal.

God no.

One of the most over rated players to have ever played in the Premier league. And he can barely move these days.
