EP carrying front and inside pages article on the continuing/proposed new Riverside Developments from the Copper Works down to the Marina, fair play it is fantastic news, included is the completion of the Morfa Distributor Road which is very good news for the Liberty expansion plans, when these developments are completed it will certainly improve the image of the City.

If (and it's a big if to be fair) most of the plans for redeveloping Swansea come off over the next few years, the city is going to change enormously. Perhaps even enough to silence the whingers for a while.

If the powers that be need any "pointers" of how to do it I hope they look at Lincoln's waterfront - not even half the space we have but it is vibrant and welcoming.
I wish and hope we in Swansea have a barge pub/restaurant or a ship restaurant like the marina did when it first got commercialised.

The big plus in now Sir Terry Matthews, involved now with the development of the Swansea Bay Area,he was educated at Swansea University.

I heard whispers a while back that Terry Matthews buying the Civic Centre was a done deal long before it went on the market. No idea if there's any truth in that, but as you say, his involvement can't hurt.

The Waterside development in Bristol's got loads of them. Plenty of room in the Prince of Wales dock for something similar.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Why would you live in a marina if boat noises annoy you? lol

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

I am a major whinger and would love to be silenced. Much better to be a whinger than those who shrug their shoulders and say 'everything goes to Cardiff'.
Futhermore I hope all these positive noises apply to the whole of Wales and not just our proud historic city.
About time investment was for the whole of the country and not just Merthyr Tydfil's coal depot / Cardiff mudflats.

https://www.waterways.org.uk/waterways/restoration/campaigns/restoration/swansea

There were plans to create a 35 mile inland waterway around swansea bay connecting the swansea canal with the river tawe and at the bottom of the river tawe by the barrage connecting through to prince of wales dock/sa1 so boats/barges can sail between swansea marina/river tawe into sa1 without going out through the lock.

Then connecting prince of wales dock/sa1 at the east end with the tennant canal on the other side of fabian way then to the neath canal and onto the brecon canal.

While it is great news to hear about the Riverside development it is very sad to see the continued decline of High Street & town centre in general.
(I am a whinger but only because I love the City and want it to prosper.)
What happened to the big plans for Castle Gardens, Kingsway High Street etc. Swansea seems to be in a cycle of announcing but not fulfilling development plans for the commercial (and promotional) side of the city. Is the Tidal Lagoon ever going to be built? Are there still parts of the David Evans site still to be let & more and more shop fronts are being boarded up.
Swansea City is attracting great interest but (and it is so hard to take) when outsiders visit Swansea it doesn't leave a great impression.
