So did quite a few other players that don't play for us. Sanchez looked very good.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, but we weren't in a gnat's whisker of signing Sanchez.

Just sayin'.

Also, Pablo's goal for Leeds! Lovely to see him back in this country. Not up to Prem kevels now, but his play is still lovely on the eye.

All jokes aside, were we within a gnat's whisker of signing Chadli?

We were linked with him several times and if we were interested weren't prepared to pay the asking price/didn't make a big enough effort to sign him.(see also Joe Allen).

The baggies wanted him and were prepared to pay the asking price. Same as Stoke were with Joe.

End of the day the recruitment team know whether we wanted him or not and, if we wanted him what the strategy was. I can't see them telling us much, if anything, as it would mean giving away information about how we value players, how much we are prepared to spend and wages structures.

Time to move on, the last transfer window has closed no use speculating about what might have been. Hopefully in case we need reinforcements in the next window the groundwork is already being undertaken for the next window.

I would be interested to see what the new Chinese owners will follow for the club. Will they take them on to the next level? I would have thought we would have been more of an attraction for them. All we have are penny pinching Yanks hiding behind Ebineezer Scrooge.

Chadli was and is proven in the Premier League as well as been involved in a top international team.
Teams can buy players that do a job all day long [defenders, defensive midfielders, none goalscoring wingers, those players are all much of a muchness], but players that are proven at both scoring goals and providing assists are not easy to get hold off.

Chadli very similar to Siggy in that regard.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.
