Ignoring Amat for a second (obviously we should have kept him).

Same theme as young Gwion Edwards.
After watching him a couple of times in friendlies I said 'this is a player, yes he'll do'...and boy did we need him to step into the void that Leon left.
A few games later he was binned.
Straightaway the propaganda from the likes of the Res started up;
- He had a screw loose
- A drink problem
- Unprofessional
- He wasn't up to the pace of the Premier League
- He wasn't able to do a satisfactory defensive job
- He played risky passes
etc.
The bloke was literally never given a fair crack. Judged on a handful of appearances.
Millions down the swanee, again.
Yet here he is starting for that massive club Sevilla, completing the 90, and pulling the strings in a comfortable victory.
Now maybe I can't spot a player...but can Sevilla?
Is it not maybe the people working for our club that is the problem?

Paul Clement ruined Mesa.
Inept moron who's on course to send Reading to League One.
He's never given him a chance, Because Clement persisted on playing some of the most negative football out there, Hoofing balls aimlessly, 3 defensive midfielders who are not allowed to cross the midline. None of these tactics could fit Mesa. Or any footballer to be fair. By the time Carvalhal came, Mesa was already repulsed and he had to go.

The move to Bayern was so wrong for a player who had looked good amongst good players against poor teams.
Amat was never going to be persuaded to return to Swansea after being messed about - Laudrup brought him is as a backup player (was he 20 or 21?) and he was doing well.
After an injury Monk pretty much ignored him.
One of the most technically gifted defender we ever had.
Went on loan and has been trying to get e permanent move ever since.
