It doesn't look good if a government minister want's to see the outcome of an investigation and civil servants "stonewall" her, block her from seeing what they uncovered. IS that the real reason Rutnam resigned, because she kept on at him about this?
As far as it goes, I don't care what colour the criminals are only that the law aims to catch as many of them as possible.

You also have to question how and why civil servants, even the most senior, can get away with stopping ministers from seeing what they want to see?
Who do these civil servants think they are?
Obviously some of our very senior civil servants need taking down a peg. Even if releasing this information will cause a storm the truth is more important.
