Cooper’s Swans Bounce Back in Battling Display 19th Dec 2020 18:28
The swans hit back hard on a pitch which was treacherous come the end of the game at the Liberty. Jamal Lowe impressed in a 2-0 win which saw the game end in torrential rain and was reminiscent of the 1970 cup final at Wembley. 0

Yet another valuable and hard fought three points and clean sheet for our team.

Clearly quite low on entertainment value today, we must remember that no atmosphere ( due to no fans being there ) is severely affecting the product at all grounds. We’d have expected 15,000 of so today at the Liberty with the games around Christmas especially always enjoyable and noisy when we win.

I can see some fans ( not many thankfully ) persisting with their stance that the Manager isn’t meeting their high standards. That’s unfair and unreasonable. Again, given the transition of our Club and cost cutting exercises over the past 3 or 4 years, and it’s delicately placed financial position, we are exceeding realistic expectations. It’s so easy to criticise without offering alternative achievable solutions.

If we can stay in contention and get fans back into stadiums this could yet turn out to be one of our best ever and certainly surprising seasons. Approaching the half way stage now, it’s possible.

Good luck to our players and staff as so far you’ve been outstanding with the exception of the Derby game on Weds. Have a good Xmas all.

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day

Cooper is doing a fantastic job and we had to show another level of toughness yesterday. I am more than happy with our position, players and dare I say it, the club. Americans are there, nothing anyone can do about that, I’m having far better weekends because the swans are delivering. Good enough for me.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Don't share the Cooper love but that's just me.

We are however bouncing back after defeats ,which is good. We have owners that are holding us back and it's ad really as with a keeper of some quality and a balls oout striker,we could tear this league up. Norwich the only team clearly nailed on to go up as things stand and why? Pucci,a tremendous striker . It is testament to Norwich and its owners that they keep both best players and manager and press again.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Highly apt thread title. Cooper is definitely marmite. His body language doesn't help his cause for fans that need to see some pashun and hwyl. Jury still out but his bouncebackability along with how we played 2nd half yesterday has to be admired.

Good to see OHL that you're still massively bullish for our prospects, despite our manager. It would be one heck of an achievement if we can tear up this league without a decent manager at the helm.

I care not if any of us agree or whom thinks whom is clueless or a simple tw@t.

What we think is not important.

What is important is how our owners run our club and right now they are treading water but I want the deep blue ocean again.

Cooper has shocking body language and I cannot see how he could inspire a team to come from behind to win or players to up their game.

I’m sure he is a lovely chap ,loves animals and gives to charity .

You’re becoming even more monotonous by the day. Find a hobby. It’s more important than ever at the moment.

It wouldn’t be so bad if you had the slightest idea what you’re talking about.

Mr Cooper appears to be in the Paulo Sousa mould. An expert in setting up sucessful defensive systems and pragmatic football. He has proven conclusively he is not a youth player coach out of his depth.

He has the added bonus of excellent contacts to the biggest teams in England and first hand knowledge and links to the finest 19-22 aged footballers in England and Wales.

I want to see more permanent signing like Joel Latibeadiere and gradual development of slighlty less than stellar prospects into the Swansea Way such that in two years they are again stellar. Perhaps one or two that lost their way a little after a teenage stop or two. Marcus Edwards for example or players like this.

As long as the players are showing pashun and hwyl on the pitch and they are so far (Derby excluded) then Cooper can sit on a deck chair and read chapters from Dylan Thomas's Portrait of an artist as a young dog for all I care. Once the whistle blows the job is on the pitch.
