Not much informntion on Neil Roberts, He was a striker at Wrexham and last played for the now defunct Rhyl.

He left Rhyl to go to Manchester City to look after their u16 but that was in 2009 so he might have been there for some time and hit the glass ceilling perhaps?.

Presumbly that is where Mr Ward knew him. You can only gain from working with the best. Allen and Roberts joined the Man City academy at the same time 2009 and must have worked together for 8 seasons.
