I am perfectly happy with them as owners. They have appointed well after the 'Jenkinista' era bringing in Birch and Winter. Steve Cooper might not be a top appointment for all but the league postion is very impressive. Early impressions on Andy Scott are favourable and recruitment has been hamstringing the club since Laudrup left in 2014.

If fans want buckets of US cash then they must accept that the odd fan owned organisation will have to be severely diluted down from the current 21%. This may happen initially anyway as a result of the Convertible loan note.

This is not fair. I only called the Trust a bit "odd". It is an organisation set up by well meaning people to stop poor people make money like any normal owner would be able to. The only people profitting from this organisation are the London agencies appointed by the members.

There's nothing odd about them, nor any reason at this moment with no actual newsworthy reason to reiterate this tired, largely inaccurate and selective viewport that you repeatedly spout.

Hence why it's a ****RANDOM UNWARRANTED DIG AT SUPPORTERS TRUST ALERT**** moment again.

He is an owner. He may have been the player that recommended our old friend Bob Bradley and possibly advised on Morris and Arriola. I dubt very much he is n the payroll unless he is Swansea's US / South American scout.

I don't think I've seen him listed amongst the various and numerous shareholders. Although random ones do pop out of the woodwork occasionally so its entirely possible he is one.

But I'm sure he had a job at the club so was taking a wage. Ambassador or something like that.

You cannot be sure because it is very probably untrue. Whats the point of an Ambassador if know one knows what he is doing at the club? He is mates with Levien and Kaplan and the US football glitterati. This helped Swasnea get Morris and Arrioal on the cheap perhaps?. He may have known Silverstein etc it is called networking.

If any one is paying him it is most probably the US ownership group not Swansea city. This group may have pooled investment with DC United or other sporting interests. The value of DC has rocketted over the last decade. One reason is it costs hundreds of millions of dollars just to join the league.

Ah my apologies on the terminology of such loosely specified roles, but see this:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/sport/football/40997704.amp

He was / is a 'consultant' to the club, which presumably is a paid role. I have no idea what benefit Donovan has brought to the club. Has his name been linked with any of those things you mention? I know other names like Sorozawa (apologies for the spelling) and Levein were explicitly mentioned in being instrumental in the loan signings.

Yes well its pity DC's supposed off field success hasn't translated onto the field where they appear to be perennial strugglers.

Yeah, any work that Landon Donavan did for Swansea City, Kaplan slipped him £20 or something to buy some booze and fags. You don't half talk some utter crap. He would have been paid a consultancy fee, and that would have been paid by the club.

They will take advice from tme to time from consultants for sure and if one of your business partners has football knowledge it would be wise to speak to him. I believe (without evidence) that Donovan would have been a driver for the appointment of Bob Bradley. That did not go well. I expect since then his consultancy will be purely in socuting perhaps or feed back to the US owners on the performance of Cooper for example.

He is advising and working Levien and the ownership group and not working for the club. The invoices for isolated work could go to Winter of course but Winter would want to know what the service was and how it benefited Swansea. If it involved signing US players on loan for scouting etc it would be passed for payment. There is some overlap. I remember about reading about the young American lad from Southend Kelman. It was specualted he could sign for Swansea and be loaned to DC for experience. This means the scouting teams of both overlap. That could be Scott talking to a US recruitment person. Ashley Williams was linked to DC when he left Everton..

He is advisor to Levien and Kaplan. They are not football experts they are owners. He would most likely be employed by them to provide impartial advice. Its not a 9 to 5 job. They both have multiple footbll intersts as does Silverstein.

If it is the appointment of a US manager FOR SWANSEA he would have got a fee for sure. Donvoan is US football's most famous player. He is most probably not on the clubs payroll however. You can be sniffy about it if you want it a British football trait.

Donovan is not listed as a club employee, he is an owner. That means if he is working, it is as a consultant. Kaplan, Levien and Silverstein are all football club owners owning Swansea City, DC United and Houston Dynamo. If he is a consultant his expertise in in US players and US Soccer not UK football. As far as I know he is a US national living in USA.

He is likey doing his consultancy on US soccer as that is where his expertise is. If his knowledge is usefull to Mr Winter and Mr Scott he can get paid by Swansea for individual work and assessment. (Jordan Morris perhaps?) This is speculation. It was you that said he was on Swansea s pay role not me.

Its another question for Mr Winter in the next forum.

So you have no idea at all then do you? If, is an advisor to Levien and Kaplan on Swansea City matters then he would be paid for that 'advice' by Swansea City football club. There's no two ways about it. Nothing 'sniffy' about it. It's basic common sense!

Are consultants / advisors usually listed as club employees? Probably not. Yet they do take a wage and hence would be on the payroll.

I merely asked if he still was (various articles state that at 1 time he was certainly engaged by the football club for some services).

Silverstein doesn't own any of the club currently by the way. (as far as we know).

No consultants do not take a wage they take a fee agreed in advance or payment per hour for a fixed number of hours. Your BBC report was from 2016 around the time of the Bradley appointment. This is me putting two and two together. Huw jenkins did not recomend Bob Bradley.

Swansea city has not need of a US soccer expert since then until the arrival of Morris and Arriola. cooper was selected by Birch Curtis and Britton. The three incomings that might have arisen from Donovans consultancy work that affects Swasnea is Bradley, Morris and Ariolla in the last 5 years. This work is potentially chargeable. On going advice directly to the owners concerning Donovans expertise on US football is not, I suugest.

Silverstein is on the Board making decisions.

Christ we should have chucked that invoice back in his face if he was the one who advocated appointing Bradley.

Yes who knows, he's certainly received money off the club in the past for services rendered. I merely was curious as to whether he was receiving money from the club?

Yes Silverstein is on the board. But like some of the other board members has no shareholding.
