| Lottery Winners with a stolen bank card 😂 on 20:57 - Dec 15 with 1166 views | Flynnidine_Zidownes | This sums up exactly what I was saying on the other thread: “Goodram has 24 convictions for 48 offences, while Watson has 74 convictions for 143 offences.” I mean how many times do you need to be convicted, how many offences until someone says yeah you’re a menace to society and should be removed from it? That’s 200 offences alone committed by this pair of pustule ridden scrotum bags. And they are probably just the ones they’ve been caught with. 200! And they aren’t even that old. They’ve probably got their own parking space at the magistrates court at this rate. Someone do something to get this scum off our streets. | | | |

No I didn’t cover this story, just commented on these people who have multiple convictions yet still somehow are allowed to walk free. It’s absolutely crazy to me that this pair of smelly arse flavoured reprobates are even free to be able to beg on the streets of London, nick a bank card and win the lottery when they have nearly 200 offences between them.

Massive overkill, would drastically reduce increase our prison population at a time where it’s nearly full anyway. Would get the country untold millions of pounds building many new prisons when we’ve not got the staff to man the ones we’ve got. Studies have shown that prison, doesn’t work in reducing crime for a lot of people. I’m not talking about serious violent or sexual offenders but petty stuff. Under this system someone who nicks some pick n mix from Woolworths (back in the day) would qualify. Then you could have someone who’s a bit of a prat, shoplifting with his mates ending up in prison for a long time, mixing with smack heads and coming out with a big drugs problem. Our prisons are full of spice, which is a wicked drug, really screws people up. It was even flooded during lockdown when there were no visitors, which narrows down the options as to how it was getting in. Secret barrister in his/her book goes into details as to how longer sentences don’t necessarily give the solution. In my humble opinion more money needs to be spent on social services to help prevent these two latest devastating cases with the little children, drink and drug recovery, rehousing the homeless and having a proper grown up conversation about legalising drugs. We’ve lost that war, only way to have any prospect of gaining some control is it being sold legally, thereby destroying a lot of criminal gangs, allowing users to more readily come forward for help and ensuring stuff they take is safe.

Studies also show criminals can't commit crimes while they are in prison. Another study also shows the longer the sentence the lower the reoffending rate. Studies also show sentences of less that a year have no effect at all.

Do you ever get frustrated at seeing the same old scumbags get away with a slap on the wrist only to be back in court the next week? I know I would be. Let alone the long stream of victims they leave in their wake. It’s a huge flaw in our system that repeat and persistent offenders are given chance after chance but don’t learn. They’re often given more help and support than their victims are. And in this case can even laugh at us whilst wearing a “most wanted” jumper and swigging champagne on Twitter. It’s grotesque.

When I was more junior and dealt with a lot of cases in the Magistrates Court, that's exactly what it was, same families, same people, time after time after time. Drugs and alcohol destroys lives. Most are incredibly stupid like in this case. To make a claim on a multi million pound ticket when you've not got a bank account, and nicked someone's card....just shows how thick these people are. They are given help, from the probation service and then end up in prison, and get out. Things change when they get to the Crown Court, it's a different game up there. Sad thing is when you see the people you used to represent having kids who then end up in court. These kids have no chance. Also the number of kids I have had to put in their place for speaking like crap to their mum I'm no fighter but I've had to stand nose to nose with clients in the past. Funny thing is the easiest people to deal with are the 'proper' gangsters. Very respectful, extremely polite. Mr this and Mr that. Funny thing is, the person who's card it is, won't get the money either as the contratc

I understand that a lot of these people have horrific upbringings but that doesn’t excuse the behaviour, when people are committing crime after crime after crime surely they should have to be put away for societies sake? I can empathise with people who may make a rash judgement in the heat of the moment and commit a “crime of passion” and I can understand people so desperate they feel like they have to steal to feed themselves or their family. But when they are offered help and a chance to find route to change but still carry on acting like dickheads time and time again my sympathy begins to wane and I feel they should be locked up until they learn for their own sake and everyone else’s.

When a professional burglar is in prison,he cannot physically burgle. When a paedo is inside,he cannot kiddle fiddle When violent scum are inside ,people are safe from the knife/gun/bottle. When drink drivers are inside, streets are safer Studies have shown that when inside a prison ,criminals have to use their mobile phone to organise their Empire We must not feel guilty about putting scum away. By doing so,we increase the risk of recidivistic activity. Barristers need crime and criminals. It's part of their industry. Few lay offs really as it seems to be flourishing. No wonder they welcome them with open arms as it luts food and decent wines on the Table

Of course who commit crime after crime need to be put away, 80 % of my practice is prosecution work, so I take your point. Problem is when you’ve been brought up in a family who all commit crime as a way of life, ‘grafting’ is a way of like and like Ronnie Barker in Porridge so is prison. For a brilliant read on how someone did turn their life around have a look at Jon Mcavoy’s book. Gangster to world class Ironman. Prison officer befriended him, got him into static rowing and went from there. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Redemption-Iron-Ironman-John-McAvoy/dp/1785316001/ref=m
