Despite there being a constant mantra of the club can’t afford players, hence Matt O’Riley not signing, the actual facts of the matter seem to be lost by many. Once again we turn to the horses mouth. 0 Russell spells it out, click above, Twerps below.

First it says we can get the players we want. Then later says it could be confined to loans and only if the finances are right, suggesting we may not be able to get the players we want. Which is rather contradictory to me. Maybe he got excited and slipped up about saying the first bit then reigned it in for the other bit realising it's not a great negotiating ploy to announce we've got cash.

It means the player he wanted were always going to be from the loan market. Wolf was a bit of luck out of the blue which is why we didn’t go hared for o'Riley. Aldo, may have been a clearing of intention regarding the players who could be leaving. We still have to overcome the difficulty of persuading players to come to Swansea. Good news on that front … Christie has bought his family to Swansea. Sounds like he’s staying.

It depends on the reporting angle of the author., We have looked at what he actually said, and not cherry picked the responses to suit previous articles. Ian could have done far better with his article on this occasion, it’s a jumble. RM clearly states the swans are in a position to bring in the players he wants. We are pretty certain that will be this week and not the summer.,

Yes, so him saying we are in a position to get the players we want conflicts with a lot of what you've said in your post.

Wolfie and O'Riley are different players I thought, in a positionally sense, I mean.
