And so it begins, as I have said more than once, I am ore worried that we will lose our better players than I am confident we will recruit the players Martin needs.
It won't just be Downes, I'll be surprised if nobody is looking at Piroe.
The only questions then are, will we sell and for how much? I don't think there's much doubt that whatever we get, we won't spend even half of it on replacements. This will ultimately be the big failing of the Russell Martin project. We can't wait 2 years for success or even for large improvements because any standout players will be snaffled up by lower end EPL or top end EFL clubs with EPL money still coming in. | |
