They reckon the rate in Wales is close to as high as at the record levels. Thing is, they aren't doing mass testing now so how do they know? it seems to me they are guessing.

Based on the ONS survey which has sampled the same number of people throughout the pandemic.

Seems that the pressure is being caused by the response to Covid rather than the virus itself these days. With such low rates of serious illness out there, isn't the requirement to keep isolating if testing positive overkill at this point?
There must be hundreds, maybe even thousands of NHS staff sitting at home isolating due to a virus that now has a very, very low chance of killing anyone.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I'm not surprised. ASDA, I know someone who works there who was recently chastised for being TOO HELPFUL! So when you see a member of staff with a jacket on with "happy to help" on the back, they probably are but the manager is less happy for them to help you.

Some non clinical staff can work from home, but the situation is different for clinical staff and will depend on roles. Lots of the people who are inpatients in hospital are unwell and catching Covid could cause them real issues - so the hospitals have to be careful.
I currently work for the NHS and am off with Covid - I’ve been quite rough but am hopefully on the upward trajectory. I’ve nearly finished my 5 days isolation, but as I have regular close contact with numerous immuno suppressed patients who are amongst the highest risk I can’t return until after I have 2 consecutive LFT’s which will be longer again. We still wear masks etc even though official regulations state they aren’t required.
