Being reported we have turned down a request from Rangers to take him on loan.

Martin says he part of the first team squad

Sorry missed the article at the top of the page

All the same it's good to see him being talked about, class of 2013 may show a return in the scouting system

The boy is going to be a regular squad member this season, we have a excellent crop of midfielders coming through.

As I said elsewhere, there doesn’t have to be an offer from the club, they have clearly employed an agent or agents to approach either other agents or clubs to assess viability. It’s a clever way of ‘Rangers’ then being able to say ‘ Nothing to do with us ‘ when it goes wrong or they get rejected.

We do have to look deeper at times.

If it's just agents chatting then hopefully we've not handed out another new contract to "ward off interest". Tends to backfire.

Congrove? Congrave? or Congreve. I got pulled up for calling Garry "Gary Monk".

Congreve is part of what I call the Jenkinista dynasty. Players that came through the Jenkins 17 year glorious reign. He had a bit of trouble with some committee nobodies and even their loyalist agree they are now of no consequence in the running of the club.

They looked at the big outside world and did not want millions of US dollars but "protection" instead apparently. Is this "protection" to keep the perks associated with a 5% holding guaranteed?. Once SIlverstein figured that out the deal a piece of cake. A completely un American concept.

Congreve, Lloyd ,Cottrill and Bony were of a high quality group identified by Jenkins and co and sent on a USA u13 tour back in 2018. The investment by the man that just keeps giving. The fools run him down of course and very few brave souls come to his defence. That is when I come in. explaining to the masses that the fake narrative they were supplied with has run out of road.

i did not know you are a moderator? Anyhow I am entitled to praise all the people that got Congreve to this point. Jenkins the 'sell outs' and the academy past and present. The young guys have a lot of work to do of course. Quite a few of these kids still in the system.

Investment in young lads many local is a great thing. Folks like Kilkenny needs to reset and back local people though thick and thin as a flag waving Cymro.

Even the web site got his name wrong. There are at least 4 versions on the go. Congrove Congrave, Congreave.

Not a mod.
Just one of many ( including Keith ) who are fed up with you constantly discussing the takeover, Jenkins, the loan, etc, etc, etc. on virtually every thread
Yes I agree it is brilliant to see youngsters come through to fruition.
However, they are still coming through in spite of Jenkins, not because of him.
Do not remember the talk over recent years of the possibility of us selling Fairwood and Landore training facilities?
That talk only arose well after the fateful sale of Jenkins and co selling their shares.
Had we done so, then would we be discussing the quality of Congreve now ?
I doubt it.

The rumours of an imminent sale of Landore were always bullshit.

Yep.

The questions about how many of the sellouts made a few extra quid from building two facilities rather than one remain however.

That is fair enough.
However the point remains that although discussions regarding previous and current owners are still relevant to where we find ourselves now, surely most of us feel those discussions should be contained to separate threads and not brought onto ( it seems to me ) an endless amount of unrelated threads ?

Both facilities are being used and one is part owned by the University as I understand it.

I have pointed out the years of hard work that has gone into developing the latest batch of talent we all hope will do well and play for Swansea city in the Premier league.

The management, coaches trainers deserve credit. Congreve himself appreciates this even if forum dwellers do not. A new long contract for the club that got him to this place. Not jumping ship. If he thought he got to the first team squad despite the management perhaps he would not have signed.

Four or five of the squad that was sent to the USA are still grafting hard to get into the first team squad. 3 have already made it. Investment in youth is a good thing and was not seen when Harston was a 14 year old in Swansea.

Too many on this forum talk the language of betrayal, failure and depression the majority in fact. If you speak for them good luck. Your post highlighting the sale of the facilities was rightly binned.

Not only two but also spent millions on adding another floor to Landore, you can guess who the contracting company was

So no denial on your part that anyone involved with the club made money from any contracts dished out then ?

Top class facilities by all accounts. Hopefully it was on time and on budget and will keep churning out great players for Swansea city and Wales.

The work did drag on a fair bit. Taking a new roof off to add an extra floor is going to strain anyone's budget. Fortunately the PL let us enter the Cat 1 fixture list early on the promise that everything would be finished at some point that season.
