Bony 2 was a wretched signing by Ledbetter / Jenkins despite numerous red flags. Wilfried was good at passing fitness test but not good at playing football when he came back. He managed to convince Clement he was in decent shape. He did it again in Holland last season.
Other players like Tom Carroll become injury prone after they joined Swansea. The club needs to learn these lessons with money tight.

Some years ago the transfer recruitment approach was changed such that there was a group that were behind the transfer decisions and not the manager. The purpose was to e sure a consistent style of football, rather than whole sale changes each time the manager changed.
This would work as long as each manager stuck to the sane style.
Arguably though, our best periods of recruitment have come when a new manager started.
