Oli Cooper really puts a shift in, like a new signing. Great atmosphere and the fans chanting Martin's name is what is needed.........if the fans get behind the team like they did today then it will be worth an extra 8-10 points over the season. Not sure what the score is with Obefami and Ntcham but if its what is being said then they are not thinking about the fans or their teammates and that's bad form for me.

| My take on today. on 18:42 - Sep 3 with 1762 views | jojaca | QPR looked better on the eye than us, they seemed further ahead in the process in trying to perfect Pep's Man City system, but like us they looked toothless in final third. The only real concern today was our attacking patterns of play seemed to go out the window second half. | |

It was virtually all QPR 2nd half, we proved that we can defend and do it well. QPR came out to play against us and ultimately it played into our hands.

Yes and if we had Diego Maradona playing for us in the welsh cup final v Kidderminster in 89, we may have scored more than 5 [Post edited 4 Sep 2022 9:50]

I read Benda was average which is probably fair but he is exactly what we want.Average and does the basics well enough. He shouted at his defenders too and took control. We had better forget how appallingly he has been treated by us. Hopefully ,he keeps the jersey and we jettison Fisher in January. In Cooper,we could have a real star.A lad with real fire in the belly and skill to go with it. The loanees look the best we've had so far. My Flex looks a real unit The player are there Russ.Use them properly

I disagree, Diego wouldn’t have fancied that and gone missing in action | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They had one decent opportunity to score! They also had passages of very good passing which I would expect from a fairly settled team that has played a lot of football together. We started with 5 players who were either new or hardly played last season. We ended with three players who arrived this week.

It was ironic that we managed the win with our lowest possession stat. And yes, we defended very well against a sharp team, well sharp until the penalty area which was when we were better. Benda did well, the 3 good saves. Again though, we were a different team, a lesser team when Allen went off. I really hope he's asking or needed to come off because otherwise it's a bad sub. When Joe is out there, we are better. One other thing though, we moved Cabango across to the left side in the second half and we were noticeably worse, he kept slicing it into touch. Ben needs to be in the middle or on the right, he's better that way.

| My take on today. on 10:31 - Sep 6 with 809 views | Swans9 | Grimes improved in the second half. Good to see us kick sometimes when no option for short pass. I still getting used to 5 subs long term like every other change always favours the teams with the most money better squads. I noticed it with Norwich it was all Sunderland then bring Pukki big guns on game over. | | | |

Yep. And teams that are happy to chase shadows and defend. Previously those teams' players would tire and late goals become more likely, now it’s just a case of refreshing half the side.

| My take on today. on 19:15 - Sep 6 with 597 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I am dubious about these "journey to Damascus " moments and claim Martin has "seen the light" . The near calamity at Stoke in the first minute might have influenced Martin's decision and play Benda. Thornton has been working on this for about 14 months and they still muck up. It is a bad routine and lacking academic considerations. The two players are too close and easy for one presser to run between the two why blocking the return pass. Swansea need to mix thing u in any case. Possession stats are not decided by Martin. They re decided by Martin and Beale in this case and Beale also wanted to control possession. Warne decided not to contest possession. That is their style. More possession should mean more corners more free kicks more shots on and off target for the big teams. It does not happen for Swansea and has led to more mistakes in possession. | |
