Guidolin was a goldilocks manger. Good but not too good and a b bit too old for the PL rivals.
Swansea had stacks of chances v Reading but did not take them. Coopers miss was unforgivable. It was straight at the keeper. If it was in training it was in the corner. I like to offer a bit of variety to the daily durge of monotone moaning, Martin offers a consistent approach and time to develop compared with the hop on / hop off appointments of the past. Why not a manager for 4-5 seasons?
If Martin actually acted on his own logic he would do better. He keeps signing lightweights then complains they have no beef. Patterson, Sorinola, Stevens, Laird, teenage Burns Cundle etc. Where are the players "to do the horrible stuff".
Style over substance up to now. No obvious progress after 18 months. The team needs more Christie and less Sorinola. . | |
