The concept of using more renewables along with alternatives such as nuclear makes sense, but the way things work in the UK are a shambles. The grid isn’t ready for significant increases in transmission and we’re being well and truly ripped off with regards to the amount we’re paying for renewable energy which is linked to the cost of gas. The Saudi’s and OPEC’s mission is to maximise the financial return for the respective governments which means higher prices for us, so we need to break the link. Scores of businesses are getting hammered by the energy costs and some are going to the wall.

Saudi owned Aramco made a profit of over 161 billion in the last tax year. That is mind boggling and it shows ( as if we haven't enough proof) we are being ripped off at every turn.
In 2020 Aramco made 49 billion profit, in 2021 they made 110 billion then last year 161.

Saudi owned Aramco made a profit of over 161 billion in the last tax year. That is mind boggling and it shows ( as if we haven't enough proof) we are being ripped off at every turn.
