Hard to make any serious assessments of a defenders ability given the generally shambolic state of our back line for most of the season. It's entirely possible for good players to be made to look bad by poor organisation and coaching.
Wood is big, reasonably quick and looks comfortable on the ball. Was noticeable yesterday that he had a lot more freedom to play out of defence than he has for much of his time here, and for the most part he looked good doing it.
I can see that other teams might keep an eye on him to see how he progresses, but I'd be surprised if any serious interest materialised this Summer. |  |

There is certainly a player there for sure but we also must consider how young he is and it's known that young defenders will make mistakes......as we have seen with Wood and Cabango.
I would be surprised if there was any interest of solidity in the summer but his progression this season has been very noticeable and encouraging.
We certainly have a future Premier league centre half on our hands. |  |
