Karlan has blown hot and cold. Mostly cold since he since a six year contract on £1m a year. With that sort of security why bother breaking sweat?. There could have been off field distractions.
This is football and if he has inner quality he will start getting hot again Cardiff hope. It must be nicer being the star man rather than the misfit so there are reasons to put in a shift. He may want to prove something to himself and the WBA fans who have written him off.
Of course a player not pushing himself can be pushed by others by encouragement or cajoling. Certainly quite a risky signing by Cardiff. It could be make or break for Grant. A bad loan and he is in "lets come to an agreement for pay off" territory. WBA will want a loan with an obligation to buy clause I suspect. [Post edited 16 Jul 2023 19:26]
