I find that hard to believe because most of the roads I have driven on recently are not, secondly the speed limits there are KPH not MPH.

When we were in Spain (Cap du Sol and Barcelona) 5 years ago they also had much better roads that weren't entirely clogged up with traffic. Even in Barcelona around Sagrada Familia the traffic was moving more quickly than it often does on the M4 at Port Talbot and Brynglas.
PS, Spain is also twice the size of the UK but has only about a 48 million population, a lot fewer cars on the road. [Post edited 23 Sep 2023 21:43]

Having recently spent a weeks holiday in Costa Del Sol and hiring a car direct at the airport (which we've done repeatedly over the past 30 years} I can say in all honesty that travelling around both on the motorways N340 and local roads the traffic appears to be no more than its ever been , We drove to Gib ,Rhonda ,Mijas Torremolinos and around Benalmadena so a fair reflection on different traffic conditions , this at the height of the summer season . The road system near the coast are modern and even local roads are in good condition ,which puts this country to shame. | |
